April 14, 2009, my wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary dinner at O’donnell’s Seafood and Grill Restaurant in Gaithersburg, MD. Terrible Experience. I’ve never been one to write a review in such a manner, but in this time and age, you would think at such a fine establishment, this would not happen anymore.
Let me clarify. The food and our waiter were great. It was the start of the experience which made the evening a very unsettling experience. It was the hostess, whom was hired to do a simple job, yet can’t even do that right. Or maybe she was doing her job as told by management, I don’t know.
But, when we arrived at 6pm on a Tuesday evening, we were lead thru the main dining area, walking pass MANY empty tables and booths, to a backroom dinning area, where we were seated right beside a back kitchen’s door or waiter’s door. Mind you, there were also other tables available in the backroom, not so close to the door. Additionally, this must have been a family dining area with small and actively loud kids, as there were two families with small and loud kids in the same room. We didn’t have kids with us. Throughout the whole dinner, I was making up justification on why we were placed in that seating arrangement we were in… like the booths were for 4 people or the main dinning area was not opened for seating just to past the time and enjoy my meal.
As we finished with our dinner, still giving our waiter a 20% tip, we proceeded to leave the restaurant. Again, as we made our way thru the main dinning area, still very sparse in the number of customers, several very nice and pleasant booths for 4, were occupied by single white men. It was very sad, as we will NEVER, EVER, go back to this establishment again.
