April 14, 2009, my wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary dinner at O’donnell’s Seafood and Grill Restaurant in Gaithersburg, MD. Terrible Experience. I’ve never been one to write a review in such a manner, but in this time and age, you would think at such a fine establishment, this would not happen anymore.

Let me clarify. The food and our waiter were great. It was the start of the experience which made the evening a very unsettling experience. It was the hostess, whom was hired to do a simple job, yet can’t even do that right. Or maybe she was doing her job as told by management, I don’t know.

But, when we arrived at 6pm on a Tuesday evening, we were lead thru the main dining area, walking pass MANY empty tables and booths, to a backroom dinning area, where we were seated right beside a back kitchen’s door or waiter’s door. Mind you, there were also other tables available in the backroom, not so close to the door. Additionally, this must have been a family dining area with small and actively loud kids, as there were two families with small and loud kids in the same room. We didn’t have kids with us. Throughout the whole dinner, I was making up justification on why we were placed in that seating arrangement we were in… like the booths were for 4 people or the main dinning area was not opened for seating just to past the time and enjoy my meal.

As we finished with our dinner, still giving our waiter a 20% tip, we proceeded to leave the restaurant. Again, as we made our way thru the main dinning area, still very sparse in the number of customers, several very nice and pleasant booths for 4, were occupied by single white men. It was very sad, as we will NEVER, EVER, go back to this establishment again.

In the fall of 1964, after a hectic election cycle, my father won his seat on council, and as a treat, we all went to O'Donnells. I was 8 years old. It was quite an experience for me, and as the years went by, I returned there with my family for special occasions, never to be disappointed in the quality of the food or the service. I am very happy to see that they are still there on Broadway, a testimony to their food. Thanks for the memories!

HORRIBLE SERVICE! After waiting 20 mins. for a table and over 1.5 hours for an entree we've received nothing in the form of customer service but excuses from the owner. "I'm sorry" repeated 3 or 4 times doesn't cut it. Nor does the excuses of bein ...

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST MUSSELS IN WHITE SAUCE! The red sauce was creamier than the person in my party desired - in the future we would ask for more of a genuine marinara souce.

We were told to visit this cafe by our friends. I have to say I was treated to a wonderful time. The food, service is top notch. If you want a feel like your back in the early 1900's visit this joint. Great wine and beers on tap!

Terrible service and the wait was extremely long for having reservations made in advance for a Tuesday night. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!
