Bessemer Restaurant Guide

I used to eat here all the time when I was younger and pizzas were always good. Today I wanted to let my son experience some good Italian food. But what we got was TERRIBLE food. I ordered a Muffaleetta for myself, and the Buffett for my 8 yr old son. It cost $20. I was wrongfully accused of stealing a salad as I cut the lettuce for my son. I asked to cashier to apologize for her accusation as I got ready to leave. She refused. Because I was upset, I called back to complain once I got home. She answered the phone and I was not allowed to speak with the manager. She even hung up in my face. NEVER GOING BACK.

I said I would never go back here because they were so rude to me. I called to ask how far ahead I should place a to go order because it was for a family get together. They told me when to call back so I waited and called back. No answer! Drove down to place the order and some man was taking the garbage out and he said 'we are closed'! This was 4 hours before they were suppose to close!!! I told him that the sign said they were suppose to close later and he said ( as he walked with his back to me) 'well, we are closed now!'. Haven't gone back in over a year. I just called to place a to go order thinking well maybe it was just a bad day. Just called and the guy that was taking my order was AGAIN so rude I said 'never mind' and hung up. What is their problem???? I can't believe they are still in business!!!!! No customer service at all!!!!

I work nearby and have eaten here on a few occasions. Every one of them was unpleasant due to the disgruntled "manager" who seems to run the place into the ground. Today was the last time we will ever go there due to his incompetence and complete rudeness towards the customers.

The Muffalett's are awesome!! The other items on the menu are good too. The building is small and feels very crammed. The customer service is HORRIBLE!!!! I have on more than one occasion thought if I didn't love their Muffalett's I WOULD NOT RETURN .. which is really sad that the grandson doesn't seem to care that the people are the reason he has a business ... just imagine how much more of a business he may have if his attitude wasn't so horrible.

Each trip we make to Bessemer Al. to see our family we stop at Muffaletta's and eat. The food is delicious and the blues music puts you on Bourbon Street, love it.We also enjoy food at other places in Bessemer. Please copy cats, copy cats, that now play Blues Music and wear denim shirts like Muffaletta's ! Get your own theme (BS BQ) be ORIGINAL. You can copy the music but you don't have the great food Muffaletta's have.See you next time we are in Bessemer Muffaletta's.

We have been customers of Muffaletta's for about 10-years and each time we go the experience has been wonderful. Sometimes twice a week!
I have read with great interest some of the other reviews, especially the ones griping about service, space, etc. and can only say that it is our observation that many times the so-called "customers" that complain and hint of "rudeness" are the ones that are themselves very rude! No business owner or their employees should have to put up with some of what I have witnessed there! People please, the place is small for a reason. The place is run by a family, not an Army batallion, and in a conversation the owner and I had he told me that God will tell him if and when he needs to expand.
In the mean time, the food is great, the people are good and prices reasonable - except maybe to folks that can't abide by their policies, such as no take out buffets, and well worth the drive and price. Oh, the Muffaletta is the best we've had this side of Central Grocery in New Orleans, as is the Calzones!

LOVE the food at Muffaletta's. PEOPLE please be glad we have good food like that in Bessemer Al. My family have eaten there for five years.Every thing is good! Buffett is one of the best. If you want fancy & candles, and your back patted you are not looking for good food GOOD COOK'N KEEP IT UP!!

I have to say this I have sat on this opinion for a while. Although the food is not bad, it isn't as good as it use to be. There is no customer service here either. I ordered thru the drive thru, for my granddad and I, he was in the hospital. After ordering and waiting 45 min, I asked if they could tell me how much longer. I sat there another 20+ min until they brought me my food. No apology for the wait, no explanation. I called after pulling away hoping for some sort of explanation or apology. Their response: "They are not in the customer service business, and could care less what I think." So for the business that used to be my favorite, I will no longer eat there.

I have eaten in many restaurants large and small ,so Muffaletta's dining area is small but the food is awsome.We are from Hueytown, and love the buffet and calazones.The owner cares about his customers and gives them more than enough to eat.The young gentleman is always so
great to our children when we have birthday parties there. Thanks Muffaletta's,Keep up the good cooking!!

Love those Muffaletta's, "they are as big as a hubcap"! no need to go to New Orleans to get one of those.I was always taught if you can't say something good well-- just try one. thumbs up. Calazones are good also, NO HOTPOCKETS

I have been a long time customer of Muffaletta's Pizza & Pasta love the food it is small but so are the prices, great blues music! Takes you almost to New Orleans.I AM AMAZED how some people come in and demand WHAT they want on the buffet & then try to take out food not payed for!! GIVE THEM A BREAK PEOPLE thats good food. Proud to have them in Bessemer.

I have been a long time patron of Muffaletta's, the food is AWESOME, the atomsphere is nothing to speak of, too small dining area, etc. The service is the WORSE, the owner and his wife are wonderful, but their son and grandson definitely need to be schooled in courtesy and the proper way to treat the very people that assure you have a job. Their attitude is very curt and they both act as if you are an annoyance for even breathing their air. That said, the food is still good enough to have to endure their rudeness!

Super food!!! Dining area too small. Clientel not heavy but steady so maybe they do not really see it necessary to expand. Very good eating and always hot.

The food was good but the space is very small and people were tripping all over each other. The buffet is located in the front where the line forms to pay in advance and you have to wiggle in and out of waiting customers. One also feels as if the other diners (not in your party) are sitting on your lap
