I was not pleased with my last experience with Market Street Diner. I have always enjoyed driving to Sun Prairie and eating at the diner. I hadn't been to the diner in a few months and decided to take my friends to dinner. I told them about this cozy retro diner that had great food and very friendly staff. We arrived to the restaurant, my friends were very impressed with the outside and then we walked in with the wonderful display of the pies on the wall the thought of "WOW" in everyone's eyes. Then we walked in and the pie case was half empty, we stood at the front waiting for someone to say hello, the staff was all down at the end of the counter chatting about something. One person came down to greet us and made us feel like we were an imposition. Well we sat down looked over the menus and went to order to find out they were in the middle of a menu change and they were out of some of the menu items on the current menu. I find it hard to believe that you would not inform your customers before they ordered since we were all looking forward to the items we chose, but none the less we changed our orders two of us had to change it twice. The food came out in a pretty quick fashion, but the person that brought it out was not the original person who took our order and they seemed lost or unaware of what they were doing. I guess I should just leave it to this little critical paragraph, I will try them again but it is just a shame when something so good so brand new changes things so many times. It makes the people who want to be regulars and have the consistency they are looking for, go looking for it somewhere else. I hate to say it but the chains have something, train your staff and get it right the first time and keep it that way.
