This restaurant is situated on Coventry lake and has a large fabulous deck overlooking the water. It was redone a couple of years ago and has a very nice ambiance. HOWEVER, the food leaves A LOT to be desired. The items on the menu are old fashioned and not creative in the least. The food is somewhat tasteless and definitely over priced for the quality. For lunch I ordered the Cesar Salad, which came with mostly iceberg lettuce, a few small tomatoes (couldn't see them) and Cesar dressing that was tasteless. Most disappointing at $6.99! It is a great place to go for a drink on a nice day with friends, but only for drinks. The appetizers are all fried and heavy and unappealing.
It is really too bad, because this area could use a good restaurant and this place has so much potential. The owner should consider hiring a new cook that is more CREATIVE and innovative and not afraid of using herbs and spices. The service is friendly and good and the place (ambiance and location) is great. Now if they could just match that with the food.....
