Gary Restaurant Guide

I remember this place as a child. I had to take my child their as a part of sharing my childhood memories with her.

My father grew up in Gary, IN and as a treat would get a chilidog and a bowl of chili. This tradition was passed down to my generation too. After college I was transferred to NJ and on visits home would try to get my chili fix. Several years ago we where transferred to Chicago and I have introduced by 12 year son to Koney King. On every visit to Hobart to see Grandma we stop at Koney King. The chili is the best. My son and niece’s favorite is the chili cheese burger. The chili dogs are awesome! It's a great place for a good lunch.

I left Gary 17 years ago,but still have relatives there,so I come back quite often. My first stop before seeing ANYBODY is Koney King. Love those chiliburgers. This place has been serving the same quality food ever since I was a child. I am now the age of(oh never mind that). All I'm saying is I love Koney King and of all the places in gary that have come and gone I am thankful it is still on that corner.

LORRETTA, ANGEL, and KATHY are great.I have been coming here for 25 years.THEY are the greatest. I come in from Minnesota and go sraight there.

Been going for years and is a definate stop whenever I come home for a visit. It's the best "bad food" out there. A real gut buster....

I got lost in Gary, Indiana and was hungry. I noticed a Koney King restaurant and decided to stop in. The business seemed to be doing a brisk business. I ordered the "Big Paulie". It was a huge platter. Two chili-cheese dogs smothered in the locally famous chili. French fries were mounded on one side also covered in the chili and cheese concoction. Delicious! The people in the place were busy chatting and eating. A happy place.
It's a neighborhood establishment and has been in business there for a long time. At least that's what it says on the wall. The place is clean and the prices resonable. If I get around there again, I would probably order less food and drink more of the ambiance.
