My brother-in-law is visiting from New York and we decided to have dinner at Joe-T's. The patio was really nice, perfect weather to have dinner out on the patio. The food was just ok and the Margarita was not good at all. This things were tolorable but the waiter was bad, very bad service. The waiter never brought us any chips and salsa, we had to ask the busboy for chips and plates because when our food was finally brought out, the didn't give us any plates. The waiter never checked to see if we needed anything and when we did need refills, we had to ask him for refills and then he only refilled 2 glasses the first time, then we stopped him so he could refill the rest but only refilled the next 2 glases then I had to wave him down to refill the last 2. Every time he passed by us he would never ask if we needed anything but would stop at the surrounding tables to check for refills. BAD WAITER, NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL!

Joe T.'s is a Fort Worth institution, so Fort Worthians don't like dogging it. But fact of the matter is, the food is subpar and hardly worth the sometimes hourlong wait to get a table. Great patio and good drinks, so maybe it's worth doing for the booze and ambience. Eat elsewhere, though.

I just don't get it. I have eaten Mexican food from Scotland to Los Angeles to Oaxca. I have tried, and have been forced to retry, the "Mexican" food at Joe T's many, many times. Every time I go I promise that it will be my last. The "nachos" are the same my little sister Tasha used to make when microwaves were the "future of home cooking". One corn tortilla quartered with cheap, greasy yellow cheddar and canned green chilies on top. What the hell?! The enchiladas are marginal at best and anything fancier is a blind bet. Don't get me wrong. I know it's a "landmark" and the outdoor atmosphere is endearing, but Christ, the food is so....average. It really reminds me of the old Mexican food TV dinners in aluminum foil trays, but without the taste and the charm. If you want to "impress" out of town guests that have never eaten decent Mexican or Tex-Mex food, then take them here. They will have a blast and they won't spend the rest of the night barfing. Be sure to sit outside on a nice night. Inside is like eating in a bus station. But if you have ever had the pleasure of enjoying real Mexican food with cheeses from Chihuahua or fresh pork, goat or seafood dishes and homemade tortillas, avoid this place like the plague. Ok, it's not that bad. Do try it once, put a notch in your tourist belt, and move on to better and better places.

Best Mexican in Fort Worth...that's the reason it has been around since the 40s. Killer margaritas, great nachos and enchiladas and guac. Gotta try it

Waited outside and then inside for a very forgetable meal. I was not impressed and I have a low threshold for Mexican food - I would go almost anywhere else before I would ever go there again. I would never recommend it - I would never take friends or family there. Taco Bell is better.

We eat here at least once a week. We come for all of the above reasons. We always recommend it and Joe T's is where we take all of our special dinner guests.

Ft. Worth, Mexican food, and Joe T's are synonymous! It's been in the shady part of town in that leaning ramshackle shed of a building forever, and the food--served family style--is abundant and suitable for all tastes. VERY family friendly--best bet is to eat outside in the courtyard in the evening. A must-visit restaurant for any visitor to Ft. Worth, and a necessary "fix" for natives from time to time.
