WELL, THE SERVICE WASN'T HORRIBLE, WE HAD LIKE TWO OR THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE COME BY THE TABLE, THE FOOD TOOK A WHILE, BUT THE NACHOS HELD US OVER, ALTHOUGH THE RED SAUSE WHICH I USUALLY LOVE, WAS A BIT TOO SPICY FOR MY TASTE. THE FOOD WAS REALLY REALLY GREASY AND NEEDLESS TO SAY, IT GAVE US STOMACH ACHES AND WE DIDN'T GET A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP THAT NIGHT. THE PLACE ITSELF WAS NICE AND KINDA DARK AND I LIKED THE T.V.S THEY HAVE AND THE RESTROOM WAS VERY NICE. WE GOT OUR CHECK QUICKLY, BUT I'M NOT SURE IF I'LL RETURN TO THAT ESTABLISHMENT.

I have read the reviews. They seem either to say the place is wonderful, or the management and service stinks! I will find out on the 14th for myself. Going to lunch there with some big wigs from my former VA job. Hope they do well!

In my opinion Ixtapa is consistently the best Mexican restaurant in Montgomery and I've tried them all.

Ixtapa. Good food. But female waitress extremely rude, and so is managment. 3 stikes and that's it. I am done.
Ocassion 1.
Went thier for lunch. Waited to be seated. Patronage was sparse that day. So was hostess. So we sat ourselves.( we were on limited time) Imagine our surprise to be told to get up and go back and wait to be seated??
Occasion 2. Went with family to have lunch, and waitress came to the table tapped her watch and said we close in 10 minutes.
Ocassion 3. Again went with lunch with freinds. Same waitress misunderstood my friends order. When my friend commented that this was not what she ordered she was given lip service. Then to top it all off my freind was repremanded when she was given the check, being told that next time she was going to be charged for the wrong meal. We were appalled! It was the waitress's mistake. She misunderstood. And blamed us. I have NEVER experieced such rudeness. This is not service you pay for when you go out. And it is obvious that management cares little. So be it.

PS. it could also use a good cleaning. the rug is digusting!!

Ixtapa is my favorite place to eat in Montgomery and has been for several years. In my opinion, they have the best margaritas in town and the prices for both food and drinks are very affordable. They have special nights when kids eat free and they usually have the food to you before even finishing your appetizer. The Shrimp Quesadilla and Shrimp Nachos are our favorites!
