My daughters and I ate at the Hill Country Cupboard on our vacation to the Hill Country area and we were very dissapointed. The service was good - very nice waitstaff, but the food was terrible. The chopped beef sandwich was made with something similar to Schwans's chopped BBQ beef - not the home cooked BBQ they advertised. This was the case with the chicken fried steak sandwich and hamburger we purchased. If I want to eat Schwans' - I will eat it in my home rather than pay over $30 dollars for 3 sandwiches that were of poor quality and overpriced.

On my visit to this restaurant on 4/10/04, we were served coffee in dirty coffee cups and had a Sweet N Low packet floating in one of our glasses of water. I was visiting Johnson City for the Easter weekend with four other family members. After the experience with dirty dishes for our drinks, we left before ordering food. I will NEVER visit this restaurant again. The County Health Department needs to visit Johnson City restaurants, because cleanliness is certainly not a top priority.
