Restaurant Description
The Grub Steak Restaurant was established in 1963 by Joe Bissett as a small Bar & Grill originally located on North Main Street in Dayton, Ohio. It was later transformed over the years into a large full-service Restaurant, noted for good food and service at a fair price. The Restaurant has been managed by Fred Fiebiger since 1977 and later purchased by Fred and his wife Sheila in 1998. In 2008 Fred & Sheila moved the restaurant to its current location on South Alex Road in West Carrollton, Ohio. Today, the Grub Steak's secret of success is no secret. Steaks cut by on-premise Meat Cutters, hot bread made from scratch and homemade salad dressings all contribute to the food quality of the Grub Steak. Years of experimentation have led to the development of our House Specialty: "Royal Ribs". This barbeque-flavored treat is made from Prime Cut of the finest Pork Loin and served on wooden skewers. The great taste of Barbecue Ribs without the mess!

i took my g/f to the grub steak on a friday night, we had to wait 45 mins (i would expect to wait at least 20 at any good restaurant)
positives-
old school restaurant, great food at a great value with good service, filet's were good and cooked as we desired and where can a someone still get 3 side dishes included with a meal??? i also enjoyed a good drink at the bar and watching the fish tank while i waited for a table!
negatives-
this place is on the wrong side of the tracks in lovely dayton OH and i think the average age is 55 and i dont think the place has been updated since i was born (mid 70's)

HAVE BEEN TO GRUB SFFOTEAK MANY TIMES OVER THE YEARS FOR LUNCH.THE HOTEL STEAK IS OUR FAVORITE AND WE HAVE ALWAYS FOUND THAT THEY ARE BETTER THAN THE STEAKS WE HAVE HAD AT MANY RESTAURANTS AROUND THE WORLD.WE HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED WITH WHATEVER WE HAVE ORDERED AND THE SERVICE WAS ALWAYS EXCELLENT AS IT WAS TODAY 05/05/2004.WE WILL BE BACK OFTEN IN THE FUTURE.

I have been going to Grub Steak since 1971, and it is still my favorite places to enjoy a meal. I have been to many large cities and and eaten at all the top places, I still perfer Grub Steak on Main st. in Dayton. We have been taking the kids here for over 14 years for getting good grades, and I think they will agree with me that it is there favorite place as well.

Great Food, Great Service,A little drive for us but worth the drive. I like it better than Grub Steak in Beavercreek.Will go back.
