Dear Sir or Madame:

This letter is in reference to the Great American Steakhouse located on Richmond High in Alexandria, VA.

A lot of customers think that it is time to clean up that restaurant!

The carpet is ratty and dirty looking; the windows are dirty along with the venetian blinds. The tables and chairs need an upgrade. Of all the places in a restaurant to be dirty is the filthy bathroom…Yuck!!!!! Dark and dinghy! and the carpet leading to the bathroom is unsightly….I can just imagine what the kitchen looks like….Everyone who eats at a restaurant should be able to check out the kitchen and bathroom and decide if they want to stay or go to Ruby Tuesday or Applebee’s or Famous Dave’s or wherever.

The walls are sooty or dirty or dusty along with the air conditioning and/or heating vents…YUCK! (Talk about Legionnaire disease in the making.)
The restaurant needs cleaning….The Richmond Highway corridor deserves better. When a customer finishes eating, that table should be wiped off with sanitizer and not just some dirty, sticky, rag….

The restaurant’s old dishes are sometimes dirty and the utensils appear to be wiped off and used a second time instead of washed in hot scalding water…the Health Inspector needs to know this…need I mention those sticky, dark plastic glasses.

The complaint about the food it that your green vegetables such as collards and string beans sit in its liquid all day and additional liquid and food is continually added to old, stagnant liquid/ food that has been sitting all day….someone is going to get SICK from this…bacteria thrives on moisture and stagnation! Additionally, yesterday’s meat which has hardened is added to today’s fresh meat…this is surely a killer!

The restaurant is located in an excellent location to accommodate customers from Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia.

Please clean up this restaurant so that it is fit for customers to bring their guest so that we can brag and boast about what a great restaurant you have…other parts of Fairfax County Virginia have excellent clean dining facilities…your customers deserve to have the best and this is not the best that you can offer.

A comparable letter was sent in November 2009 concerning this issue and it appears that your company ignored the letter because nothing has been done to improve the restaurant or your company is being obviously arrogant!

In essence, the Health Department needs to perform a thorough inspection of Great American Steakhouse restaurant and customers need to be aware of the aforementioned.

Respectfully,
A concerned customer
