I am a 31 year old who went to Nick's for lunch on Sunday with my wife on the way back to Detroit from Chicago. It was by far the worst restaurant experience we both have ever had! They served a greek salad to my wife that only had brown iceberg lettuce!! When they brought back a 2nd salad for her, it had hair in it!! The entire restaurant appears that it was bought from a public auction with absolutely no work done to it. We actually felt very uneasy in the restaurant, due to the very dirty, and for lack of better words, strange atmosphere. We will NEVER return to Nick's, and maybe even bypass the entire town due to this bazaar experience. This is obviously only our opinion, but I would not recommend it to anyone! THIS IS MY FIRST WRITTEN REVIEW EVER FOR A RESTAURANT!! IT WAS THAT BAD!

I have eaten at fine dining establishments throughout the USA and I have to say this meal was one of the best meals I have ever had. I live out of the area so went on line looking for a restaurant and came upon the Grand Mere - it had great ratings so I called and made a reservation (make sure you make a reservation). I reserved a table by the window - the view is of Lake Michigan looking over the Grand Mere State Park Forest and is beautiful. The service was very attentive but we did not feel rushed and truly enjoyed our meal. The food was amazing from appetizers to the desert. If there was anything which was a little off for me was that is was very noisy from all the conversation but then again the place was packed and everyone was enjoying their dinner as much as I was.
Tosi's is a good Italian restaurant. The food is very average on a Chicagoan's basis. There is no local competition in this category which makes Tosi's a winner by default. The atmosphere is charming. The service is average for the area, which is

Great food and the sevice is the best in the area. Well poured drinks and wine at reasonable prices. The crab legs and lobster are amazing as is their specialty, Lake perch. Sunsets are spectacular and the ambience is warm and inviting. I highly reccommend!!

We go every year for our anniversary, since we went to Grande Mere the night we got engaged. It's always wonderful, but this year was made even more special by a very kind server who asked if we were there for a special occasion (I had to laugh when she asked because we don't look like their typical clientele!). We told her that yes, in fact, it was our anniversary. She congratulated us and walked away while we waited for our server to bring the dessert tray. A few minutes later, they both returned with two beautiful desserts, one for my husband and one for me, which we later discovered were given to us, apparently as an anniversary gift! :) Not only that, but the two servers AND the 8 ladies at the table next to us sang "Happy Anniversary" to us! Certainly a memorable experience, and one that will stick with us for years to come. The staff always makes you feel welcome, and the food...oh, the food! It's heavenly!

It is difficult to decide what to order since there are so many delightful things on the menu! The view of Lake Michigan and sunsets is perfect- there is a view from every seat in the dining room. The service is great, I suggest going when you are in no hurry and relax. The bartender makes a great martini.

We had a wonderful surf and turf dinner overlooking the lake. Every mouthful was delicious. The service was great, very attentive. I strongly recommend it. One of the few great places in the area. Expensive, but worth it.
