Antone Grammer established his first restaurant-saloon on Vine Street in 1872 as a cultural haven for the German community. In 1911, Anton's son, Frank Grammer, inherited the restaurant and built the present-day signature barroom that features a massive burled mahogany bar, leaded glass windows and a panoramic mural of the Rhine River Valley.

All menu items are value priced and feature a contemporary take on German classics as well as the traditional classics you grew up with!

Start with sauerbraten sliders, pretzel bites with beer cheese and bier radi or delicious soups including butternut squash, paprikash or Knoblauchcremesuppe. Sandwiches include the Reuben with corned beef or turkey on rye, the sloppy Johan, and locally produced bratwurst and metwurst with sauerkraut served with delicious German potato salad, warm bacon slaw or spaetzle salad sides. Hearty home-style entrees include traditional meatloaf, a variety of schnitzel and sauerbraten or rouladen with egg noodles. Perfect finishes include Pot du Crème, a brownie sundae and Eiskaffee.

Grammer's bar features 7 beers on tap including Hofbrau Munchen Premium Lager, Guinness, Stella Artois, Bud Light, Warsteiner Premium Dunkel and local craft brews Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale and Moerlein OTR Pale Ale or choose from extensive bottle beers. We're stocked with premium spirits and wines including German wines by the glass and bottle like Rudolf Muller Riesling and Schloss Zell Piesporter Michelsberg Kabinett.
