Harlingen Golden Corral has really gone downhill. Kids playing with food, dirty tables, rude employees and people stuffing food into their purses right under the eye of management ! Our friend reported that a couple sitting near the back of the restaurant was putting steaks into a plastic bag and then into her purse several times. Management told our friend that they were some of his best customers and he wouldn't do anything about it. No doubt they were ! But in the long run, we do pay for the theft. Management doesn't watch for cleanliness or curb the unsupervised kids. What a mess. We had been going there off and on for many years, but since we were treated so poorly on the last two occasions, we've decided it's just not worth it. Try the Great China in Harlingen. A bit more expensive, but a much better dining experience. Sad that things are going downhill in Harlingen

On Sunday we took our grand parents to eat at the harlingen location and I had a bad experience with a waitrees there. She had not served us coffee and I requested for her to bring a cup also to my grand mother. When we pay at the register, the cashier instructed me to request for a cup because she was out of them and to show the receipt to the waitress. When I requested the coffee and showed her the receipt she claimed that I was saying that she was acusing me of not paying for the coffee and she told me off in front of all the customers. I did not responded back to her because I am a polite person and I do believe that is beter to have one crazy person instead of two. We proceded to eat there and she was not friendly at all. I had to ask for thing several times before getting them. My husband got up to get extra clean plates instead of asking her for them, he knew he had to wait a long time before getting them. Before leaving, another family next to our table started talking to her and it seemed that they knew each other as friends. She was asked how was she doing and she responded "here struggling with the customers". I took that remark as an insult and if she felt that she was struggling with the customers what was she doing working as a waitress if she does not like to serve people? Because of her, Golden Corral just lost a customer. You can be sure that when I am asked for the best restaurant to eat, I am not going to include Golden Corral on my good restaurants list. If Golden Corral can not train their waitresses and insult their customers, then I have no business recomending anybody to the restaurant, especially, when everybody was complaining about food not being available and having to wait 10 to 15 minutes for the food to be prepared. Over all our experience was horrible. I will never set foot on that place ever again.
Without a doubt the best cheese enchiladas and refried beans. Hot coffee or sweet ice tea with lime is the best way to wash it down. The flour tortillas are all hand made with love. There is no wonder why they have a line outside the restaurant eve

I grew up in Harlingen and would frequently go here for lunch or dinner (El Taquito was for breakfast). I moved away some 20 years ago, and have done a bit of traveling. Every time I go to a Mexican restaurant, I think about the enchilada plate at

If you ever find a better enchilada anywhere, I'll pay you $100. Try the cheese enchiladas and the charro beans. I wish they'd bottle that sauce and sell it!
