On my way home from Grand Junction, CO we stopped to eat at a little restaurant called the Glenwood Canyon Brewing Company. It was located in downtown Glenwood Springs with a beautiful view of the mountains. We were seated right away when we walked in the door by friendly hosts, but we had to wait for at least five minutes before we were greeted by our server. The atmosphere of the restaurant was high keyed and it was loud because of all of the sports games playing on the televisions around us. There were two different parts of the restaurant, there was the bar section with tables and booths and then the actual restaurant. I would not recommend taking children into the bar area because all of the tables were high up and it was very loud and busy. It’s a good atmosphere for adults who don’t want to wait for too long for a table in the restaurant. I would recommend it to sports fans who want to sit back and watch the game. As an appetizer we ordered the mozzarella sticks and for dinner I ordered the beef brisket sandwich and a salad. Our server brought my salad and our appetizer with our dinner so it felt like we were rushed. We didn’t have time to enjoy our salads and appetizers before out meal but instead we had to bounce between the two so we didn’t get to enjoy our dinner as well as we could of. The food was very good though; it was prepared expertly and was extremely tasteful. It came in large portions so I would recommend sharing with someone if you can’t eat a lot. All around I enjoyed eating there but wish that the service had just been a little better. I would definitely recommend to other people but I would suggest sitting in the actual restaurant instead of the bar area. I think that all though the service was mediocre the food was excellent and it was an enjoyable experience.
