"Great value for money spent" are the key words when one thinks of Gaby's, near the pier in Venice. The food is always the same level of excellence and the prices are reasonable, which is a rarity in the area where most places think they can charge too much for food that is just OK, because they are near the sea, but Gaby's charges the right price for food that is always excellent and plentiful. Most entrées are between $9.00 and $14.00 and it is no big feat at all to escape with a bill for lunch that is less than $20.00; try that at some of the other restaurants in the area!
The atmosphere is always delightful, and to sit outside late of a summer evening and share a hookah, or a Turkish coffee, and the companionship of the many locals who frequent the place makes one feel as though one might be vacationing in the Old World.
The owner, Gaby Maalouf, is a congenial and gentle man who knows how to make his customers feel at home, as does the staff, a bright and happy crew who take pride in the restaurant and take the time to make their customers feel like friends.
I clearly love this place!
