I was told about this place a while ago, and I must say it was worth the wait. We drove from the Poconos and the last seating was 9:30pm. We got there a little before that, and I must say the food and the service was worth the drive. The sevice was excellent. Even the women's bathroom was beautiful and clean. I'll definitely go back there a second, third and fourth time. Good luck to the Freshwater family, a job well done.

I live in Brooklyn, but went to Freshwaters with friends to celebrate a birthday. The food, service, atmosphere was out of this world. You felt the love as soon as you were seated. The love was also evident in the food - it tastes like food your mother, auntie and grandma cooked. The owners greeted us and were genuinely concerned with our comfort. Our server Ruth was so professional and tended to our every need. If you have any kind of sweet tooth, you must try any one of their deserts. The red velvet cake, the sweet potato cheesecake and bread pudding are exceptional!! Oh yeah, and the price is right! It was worth the trip and we will be back real soon.

I was told about this place a while ago, and I must say it was worth the wait. We drove from the Poconos and the last seating was 9:30pm. I live in Brooklyn, but went to Freshwaters with friends to celebrate a birthday. The food, service, atmosphere was out of this world. You felt the love as soon as you were seated. The love was also evident in the food - it tastes like food your mother, auntie and grandma cooked. The owners greeted us and were genuinely concerned with our comfort. Our server Ruth was so professional and tended to our every need. If you have any kind of sweet tooth, you must try any one of their deserts. The red velvet cake, the sweet potato cheesecake and bread pudding are exceptional!! Oh yeah, and the price is right! It was worth the trip and we will be back real soon.

I wish there were more than 5 stars to rate everything. I could not have enjoyed the Food, Service, Ambience, etc. any more than if it were in my own house. We'll see you again soon!! Thank you for a terrific experience with Southern Cuisine.

I Love your Restaurant and I look forward to visiting with you again, maybe for my birthday around 3/8/09. The last time I was there the family took my mother out to eat. This is the pickest eater I've ever seen. Because of health problems she tries to eat healthy. Anyway it was a pleasure not seeing her picking at her food or complaining about anything. I wish you were closer. Vikki

The best food around. It's a plus that they are now cooking healthier, using turkey broth instead of lard or butter in many cases. Try it, you'll like it

I was invited to this wonderful establishment by a regular customer; the sevice, atmospehere and cuisine far exceeded my expectations. The owner extended personal greetings which made me know excellence was the only standard.

We moved to NJ about 3 years ago, and till this day we have not found a great resturant in NJ, until we found Freshwater. This resturant is absoutely great! Very friendly, very homey, you always walk in to a smile with the owner. And the food, well its a MUST go to place!!
We bring all of our NY family and friends here. They want great service, great food this is the place to go and they don't rush you out either!

During my first visit to the restaurant I was greeted by the owner Sharon. She was gracious, charming and elegant, as the food, service and staff. I will revisit again and again. A great place for great food.

I am almost a regular and each time the food just gets better and better. Even the desserts are to die for. Everytime i have guests visit me, I try to get reservations to dine at Freshwaters. Sometimes reservations are a little hard, but it is worth the effort.
I am from Trenton N.J. I am a southern girl. But, you all have the best southern food I tasted in a long while. I really enjoy that you all cook with turkey seasoning. We as African American need to learn to eat right' That's what your reaturant represent. Karen

Absolutely a nice dining experience. Excellant food and the piano player was great!
We travel 100 miles for the pleasure of dining at this wonderful southern style resturant.The service is excellent and the food is delicious. This is a family owned and operated business.

Upscale and elegant are the words to best describe the Freshwaters experience. I've dined at Freshwaters over a dozen times and never had a bad experience. Good food and great service are consistant.
