This is, by far, my favorite restaurant in the Homewood / Flossmoor area, and I have been there many times. Flossmoor Station is both a restaurant and micro-brewery, and should probably be reviewed separately on each count. However, given that this is primarily a restaurant Web site, I will will just say that the beer is excellent, with a variety of styles and a changing assortment of special brews and guest tappings.

Flossmoor Station has both a neighborhood feel and the service of an excellent mid-level restaurant. It is a converted train station and maintains this theme in the décor, and naming of brews and menu items. There is a good selection in all sections of the menu. Our personal favorites include the brew-fried green beans appetizer, the sweet apple salad, brew kettle chili, zephyr perch, roll yer own stogies, brewery burger, and catfish po'boy. The entrees are almost always excellent, although I especially enjoy the steaks and salmon. The desserts are much more than good enough, if you have any room left. In the summer, ice cream is served in the caboose. The service is always friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable.

The only complaint I ever have is that it can get loud, particularly on Friday and Saturday evenings, and I think the main dining area would benefit from a noise abatement treatment.
