Oak Lawn Restaurant Guide

My family & I just get back home from gatlinburg and have to say have a great time... but if some ask me what I want right now is go back to flapjacks the food is just outstanding. Looking foward to go back and visit you guys. please open a reastaurant here in the south

My Grandmother and I have been going to Flapjacks restaurant every Sunday after church for almost 10 years. Over the years we went from our 2 person booth to a table for me, my Grandma, my husband and our 2 kids. The owners, waitresses and even busboys have always gone above and beyond! The food is OUTSTANDING!!!! Delicious Apple Pancakes, strawberry waffles, omlets, etc! Can't go wrong!!! Love it!!!

This is -- by far -- one of the best restaurants on the southside. The food is always excellent and the service is great. If you ever have bad service here, it's probably because you are having a bad day, and the service is always GREAT! The Apple Pancakes are to die for, but we call them and order ahead as they take 25 minutes to prepare. You also get seated faster if you order these ahead, as they want to serve them piping hot, so you are put before the Sunday crowd if you order the Apple Pancakes ahead of them. They are so big, they are for two people, but we order one each so this way we have a delicious breakfast for tomorrow, too. If I could rate this place higher than 5 Stars, I would, as they deserve 10 Stars for being the best! Another good restaurant is the Breakfast Club (also in Oak Lawn) but they do not offer these delicious Apple Pancakes on their menu.

They serve the best egg white omelets !!

I took my elderly, handicapped aunt to this restaurant and I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The service was poor and the manager showed little interest in solving the problem. It took ten minutes for the waitress to take our order and another half hour for our incomplete order of food to be served to us. I never received my soup and the waitress refused to give credit to my bill for the missed soup. She became very rude and told me that I was impossible. When I approached the manager about this he showed little concern for the problem and never offered an apology for the rude, incompetent waitress. I eventually received a two dollar credit for the soup I did not receive, but we never received any service after that (except from the hostess who offered my aunt coffee). This was the worst experience I ever had at any restaurant and we certainly will not be visiting it again, nor will we recommend it to anyone else.

I do not believe they served "spoiled cheese" to anyone. I ordered my baked apple pancake ahead of time since it takes more than 20 minutes. It got served to someone else by mistake, they made me another one and did not charge me. They are so busy nothing has a chance to spoil, everything moves quickly. Weekends there are crowds waiting to get in. Wonderful food and a nice variety.

The French Toast and Waffles are outstanding. I have family returning to the area and they cannot wait to get back to their favorite breakfast. The service is top notch and no difficulty has ever attended to as quickly. Keep up the goodies and the good work.

I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE. IF YOUR EVER ON THE SOUTHSIDE OF CHICAGO, I WOULD PASS THIS PLACE UP. THEY SERVE SPOILED CHEESE IN THEIR OMELETTES. WHEN BROUGHT TO THEIR ATTENTION, THEY IGNORED IT. THEY DON'T BELIEVE THE CUSTOMER IS RIGHT. PASS THIS PLACE UP.

Great place for breakfast. The apple pancake is out of this world.
