I have gone to Firewood a couple of times, since it was the new restaurant in town and I was looking for a nice meal out. Bottom line, I have NEVER had good service here. The food is simply okay, definitely overpriced. The first time I went with my family, and the waiter got two out of our five orders wrong. The two of us with the wrong orders then had to wait a good 20 minutes for our correct meals, which by that time the rest of our family was finished. Nobody apologized, and a manager never stopped by to explain or express concern. On top of that the serving staff never automatically brings soda/tea/water refills. Rather they wait until the end of the meal when the drink has been completely empty for 15 minutes, and instead of bringing a refill they ask if you would like another one. Maybe I'm just spoiled by decent service at other chain restaurants who bring you a refill without asking when your glass is ALMOST empty. Every time we have dined there, it's as if the server disappears. We only see the server when they take our order and when they bring the check. Sometimes we're lucky enough to have them actually bring our order, but other than that they're a disappearing act. I shouldn't have to get up and ask the hostess to get our server for refills/butter/sugar etc. We pay to have a nice sit-down dinner, we shouldn't have to get up to ask someone else if we need something! The busboys were more helpful than our waiter, and I wish we would have given them the entire tip. Finally I visited Firewood one last time to see if anything would change. I went with my boyfriend and we were seated in the main dining area. We sat for 15 minutes and nobody greeted us. A few servers made eye contact, so I figured that they would soon stop by to serve us. No such luck. We were so frustrated and annoyed at this point that we simply walked out without saying anything. I will NEVER go back again unless I hear that they are under new management or that the staff has undergone a COMPLETE overhaul. DO NOT EAT HERE AND WASTE YOUR MONEY ON TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!
