The Fence has the best fresh breaded seafood around. Their homemade tarter sauce is so good, I wish I had the recipe myself! We love it because you can sit outside by the river on nice days and when it isn't so nice we sit in our car and the carhop waits on us. On a really hot day we have used the air conditioned dining room too. My favorite meal is the seafood combination with shrimp, haddock, and scallops and my hubby loves the fish sandwich basket with TWO extra sandwiches.

The food is definitely what is great about this restaurant. The fish sandwish with tarter sauce is their specialty...The peppered cabbage is also very good and so are the milkshakes!! It is a seasonal restaurant so it is an extra-special treat to get there!! Some of people I know really enjoy the fact that the waitresses come to the car and then you get a tray on the window like they did in the 50's. It does make for a nice touch!!
