Food was average/below average. One of the worst places i've ever eaten. Also, place was closed due to rat feces several months ago.

On Oct 8th, My husband, my sister, her husband, & I went to Cotton Grill to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We moved from Lexington 7 weeks ago to Tenn. & returned with my relatives from NC for the weekend. The restaurant was 1/3 full so no big rush for the kitchen. The wine we ordered was dripped on the tablecloth, followed by the appetizer, soup, salad, & entree all coming within the amount of time it took to walk to the kitchen & back to the table. Had it all been hot, this would have been acceptable although not really fine dining. Fried green tomatoes:COLD Spinach dip:Warm She-Crab soup:LUKE WARM Prime Rib:TOUGH & FATTY 2 Salmon entrees:RAW & COLD MASHED POTATOES. After calling the mgr. over, the salmon was heated and free dessert was offered as compensation. We weren't interested in dessert & declined. The next offer was gift card for free dessert next visit. Explaining that we were from out-of-state, this was not a feasible option. Mgr. proceeded to say he "would have given us free champagne for our anniversary had he known before". The offer to take the cost of the bottle of wine we ordered off our bill in substitute for the champagne and disastrous meal NEVER occurred. Nor did a price reduction of the bill. FYI: I have worked in a restaurant in many facets from kitchen, seating, managing, catering. Have made a few mistakes along the way & would never have let a customer leave feeling so disappointed. FYI: Have eaten here 4 times prior with very pleasant experiences (except for a Thurs in early Aug when there was no cold beer). Maybe that was a precursor of things to come. Would never have come here for anniversary if we thought the place had deteriorated in quality and service that quickly.

I and many of my friends have eaten at the Cotton Grill on multiple occasions. No complaints here. Their fried chicken is among the best i have ever had. The crab cakes have always been excellent too. Possibly a bit pricey but I think the food made up for. The she-crab soup is worth trying too.

I have frequented Cotton Grill several times and have never had a bad experience! I read the other reviews on here and can't beleive what I read. First of all-calamari is not even an option on the appetizer menu at Cotton Grill. I will say that the crab cake appetizer is outstanding! Second of all-I ALWAYS substitute my side items and have NEVER had a problem. My servers have always been accomadating and very friendly. I have had the pleasure of speaking with the chef owner-Nick Brock-on several occasions and his time and attention to his food impressed me! I would hands down, without a doubt recommend Cotton Grill.

Mediocre at best. The desserts were the worst i've ever had - Bread Pudding & Peach Cobbler. Will never go back. Definitely not worth what they charge for anything on the menu. Head chef should be removed and replaced with someone who knows how to cook.

Very bad experience. Bad waitress--we actually had to almost trip her to get her attention. The appetizer of fried oysters would have been good but they over-salted the tomatoes to the point that it was ruined. And let's just say food poisoning that evening. We won't be back.

I've eaten at Cotton Grill 4 times now. The food is adequate at best. There is nothing outstanding about any of the dishes that I've ordered. Several dishes have the taste of something that has simply been pulled from the freezer and heated

I was given a $25.00 gift certificate for my birthday and decided to try the restaurant for the first time. While the ambience is very nice, the service while friendly was not able to accommodate any of our substitution requests. Ended up with sides that we didn't want nor really enjoy. The calamari one of my favorite appetizers contained very small overcooked pieces. Seems to be something you just take from freezer and drop in a fryer. I let the waiter know and he said he would mention it but we never heard anything back. The rest of our meal was OK but the unwillingness to allow side substitutions and poor appetizer left me with an all in all poor impression. I personally won't be making the long drive back again.
