My family just made our quarterly trek to Wooster to visit my mom at my childhood home. It goes without saying that Coccia House pizza will be a part of every visit, just as it was a part of my childhood! I grew up in Wooster, from age 5 through college, and Coccia House was always a treat to look forward to. I've been returning for the past 20 years and Coccia House is always on the list. The pizza is very unique, I have never had anything like it. It's what I would call a "robust" pizza, not for the delicate pallet! The flavors are amazing, the crust is just right, and the portions are huge! 2 slices usually fills me up, then I have another just because it's so good! OK, so the service is not 5 star, but that's part of the experience I guess. When going for take-out, order early, arrive late, and enjoy the show! When dining in, set aside extra time and count on a wait. As others have said, it's worth it! Can't wait for our next trip! And next time Mom comes to Michigan to visit, a half baked Coccia House pizza will be coming along!
First off, I was a waitress myself for 6 long years. (This is in regards to the restaurant, not the pub) Food: Ordered $10 crab cakes - received 2 scallop sized cakes - I'm all for paying $10 for crab cakes - but they should taste pretty good & be of

Ate there today. The sandwiches are very good, and fairly reasonable. The soup, however, was another story. I had the black bean soup - the beans were "crunchy". My husband had the beer cheddar soup, and didn't care for it. The onion rings were

We absolutely LOVE the pizza, however the service does leave a lot to be desired.Out of the past 3 times we were there, twice they gave our pizza to someone else by mistake, and the the 3rd time we ordered it to go for 7pm,and it was ready for us at 8:15pm.Food is great, but the service could use improvement. This pizza is a TREAT!

I have been eating at coccia my whole life and will continue til the day i die. when some people complain about service they should go in knowing that there will be a wait(anything worth waiting for...) and the service is more truck stop than linen tablecloth, but that's what makes it great!! have some patience, look around at how busy they are and cut some slack to their hard running workers that bring you the best pizza anywhere!
I've lived in Wooster my entire life and coccia house is the best you can find if your looking for a great pizza at a decent price that is going to fill your tummy up just after 2-3 slices. My personall favorite there is LARGE pizza with sausage, extra cheese, with the pepperoni's on top. MMMmmMMM

Coccia House does have awesome pizza... but I agree with a lot of the comments below, the service does not stack up! Unfortunately! We will keep going back, because we do love the pizza, however, the best experience is to order it, pick it up and enjoy it in the comfort of your own home. You just never know who is going to be in what kind of mood down there... there are foul moods from the front door all the way to the bartenders in the back! If that all changed it would be an A+ experience!

My wife and I moved to Wooster a year ago and heard rave reviews of Coccia House Pizza. The reviews regarding the food are slightly exaggerated, but only slightly. It looks, smells and tastes great.
However, service-wise this place has been consistantly terrible. We have picked up pizza there between 5 and 7 times and have had a mediocre to bad experience every time. Even though there are always three or four service people in the pick-up area every time, none of them ever has ever so much as acknowledged our presence until we've waved a hand in their faces. There is quite frequently a long line waiting to pick up their order but the attitude of the workers there is not appologetic or accommodating in the slightest and the one person working the cash register is slow and chatty. They do not accept credit cards, the pick-up area is a long distance from the parking lot and not marked at all (the first time I went there, I spent 5 minutes in the dining room before I was able to get a service-persons attention so they could direct me to the right place to pick up). And at the moment of this writing I am calling their phone number at 5:20 on a weekday evening and the telephone is ringing endlessly. I am not at all surprised that the visitor from Cleveland (below) had such a terrible experience.
In sum, the food is legendary and it seems as if they've heard that so much they assume all they have to do is show up and make pizza and people will keep coming back. Well, I for one will... (gosh, the pizza really is very good).... well... I.... I.... guess I'll give them one more chance.

Thirty years ago today I asked my wife to marry me. It makes me remember our very first date to Coccia House. We ran short on time (before work) so we took the pizza to go. We've moved away from Wooster but Coccia House is still a great memory. I was going to surprise her today with a great 'take out' but I guess Tuesdays are closed days... too bad, it would have been great!
Coccia House Pizza is the worlds best pizza. It's very unique. I grew up in Wooster and going to Coccia House is among my fondest memories. This past September, my mother and sisters returned to Wooster for a visit. We ate there and we were not disappoitned. It was just like I remembered it to be -- delicious.

I grew up in Wayne County and anyone who comes to visit me has to bring a half baked Coccia. Just reading these reviews makes me want to make the 3 hour trip to have a slice!! There's nothing like it!

Coccia House is a legend. I have not lived in Wooster for 30 years yet my mouth still waters for Coccia House. I have lived and traveled all over the world and nothing compares. I have told many people about Coccia House. Recently I had a Coccia House Pizza my brother had bought and flew it to San Diego. He left it in his freeezer just waiting for me to visit. WOW! It was just as I remembered!

I remember Coccia House Pizza from my college days at Wooster. I grew up and still live in a town that consists of people that are predominantly of Italian heritage, so there is an overabundance of pizza parlors here. But Coccia House is by far the best I have ever had. It would be well worth the 4 hour round trip to go pick up a few half baked pizzas to bring home to my family.

I raised my children eating Coccia House pizza. There is NOTHING to compare and I have been all over. In my older years I have started roasted red peppers, extra grass, extra cheese and anchovies and it is to die for. ANYONE who had a bad experience there was looking for one because in the 40 years (we are not taking grandchildren) I have never had a bad experience....the only thing I would wish for, would be more tables, and a bigger dining room, but the wait can be minimized by ordering ahead, and going early.....

Coccia House is my favorite restaurant in town by far! The pizza is worth the wait, and leaves you wanting more and more. Out of town family members and friends always request a trip to Coccia House while visiting. I used to take unbaked pizza back to OU to share with friends on Sopranos night!
The menu also has FANTASTIC italian food! My favorites are gnocchi with zesty marinara, and the Alfredo sauce is the best I've ever had!
Diners from Cleveland must've had their noses up in the air to get "rude" treatment from our casual, laidback, friendly town!
In over 25 years of eating there I've never had ONE bad experience, and NEVER a dirty dish! I can't recommend this place enough! Enjoy!

Anyone who is reading these reviews should totaly discount the review from the diner from Cleveland. While he or she may have had a bad experience, that is a rare, rare did I mention rare experience. Coccia Hous pizza is unique, and not everyone loves it, but for those who do love it, it is a passion. Go any Friday at 5:00 and try to get in to the place. It's packed! If your Idea of great pizza id Pizza Hut, Donato's or Dominoe's, this pizza may not be for you. (I don't have anything against those three establishments, it's just that their product is geared to the mass market) I have been all over the world, and have still not found pizza that meets Coccia House!

I grew up on Coccia House pizza. Since childhood, life has taken me to South Carolina and Virginia, my current home. No pizza, not even in New York City, compares to Coccia House. No lie!! I'd have one sent here on dry ice, if it wasn't so expensive to do it!! Every time I go back to Wayne County to visit family and friends, they all know I've got to have Coccia at least once!

Excellent pizza. Very unique. Absolutely the best and freshest ingredients. The Coccia House does not skimp on the quality or quantity of ingredients.

We were referred to Coccia's twice by locals in Wooster. The experience was awful. The dishware was dirty and the waitress was terribly rude and selective. She messed up our pizza order - the pizza tasted like the dough had not risen - it was like cardboard. The ingredients also tasted artificial and salty.
There is also an annoying loud speaker which makes you feel like you're at a low profile train depot.
We were thorougly disappointed with the experience - this place does NOT live up to its name!
