CJ's Steakloft

Extremely slow service, trash in walkway and entrance,and dusty old clutter everywhere, dirty tables and condiment containers! Overcooked steaks, wilted salad, greasy potatoes and the owner (the mother) was extremely rude to us! They do not honor gift certificates. DO NOT GO AND EAT THERE!!!

Friends recommended CJ's and when we first entered the restaurant I thought it was okay. Not a lot of atmosphere but clean.
Once seated we waited some time before a waiter appeared to announce that he would be back as he had another drinks order to take and rushed off. He returned to take our drinks order without to much delay. When we placed our meal order we discovered that we had the choice of either a starch or a vegetable. No salad was offered and when on of the party asked for a starch and a vegetable with their fish they were told one or the either but not both!
The food arrived without any sense of presentation. My Cajun salmon portion was a fair size but not exactly tasteful. When I see Cajun in a description I expect the dish to be full of flavour. The rest of the table ate without comment. My husband found his fish disappointing.
My plate was removed before I had finished eating without the waiter asking if I was done. He obviously wished to ring up the check and have us gone. A request for a desert menu resulted in one being brought for a table of four. The coffee we ordered was brought with out cream and sugar which we had to ask for.
I noticed that the restaurant was not very busy and am not surprised. When there are so many competitors that make the dining experience both more enjoyable and better value the owners of CJs should spend some time examining how to improve their restaurant.
I would not recommend the restaurant and I will not return.
