Chez Soul

12/16/12 - I took my family to Chez Soul after church thinking it would be a good place to eat. As we entered the hostess had seated us to the back of the room. A minute later our waiter ask us what we wanted to drink and we just asked for water. As he came back with the glass of waters, we gave our orders. 45mins went by and still no food, the waiter just kept walking by serving the other table beside us. 10 mins later the waiter came over and said that the food should be coming out shortly and I replied ok will wait. Another 10 mins more the waiter said that he had forgotten to give our food order to the cook and it will take a few minutes. I told him to forget it and we were leaving. My family and I felt that we were discriminated, not served maybe because we weren t black, instead asian. The people who arrived 20mins after we did, were served first and they were black. I guess skin color still counts when you are in a restaurant that caters only their kind. Never again will I go here and further more I will continue to share this experience with friends of other race. Lastly, I noticed the manager behind the counter (tall/bold) kept calling our waiter over and pointing to our table. Hmmm, maybe he was telling our waiter to make us wait longer and we will end up leaving. As we were leaving we expressed our anger at the hostess, telling her that we waited for 1hr and not get served, her stupid reply was you just got here. IDIOT!!!!!

I'm not racist, my son's godfather and a good friend of mine is African American, but maybe the positive 5 stars feed back you are seeing about this restaurant are from black folks.
