The building that houses the E.F. Lane Hotel was first constructed in 1891 by Elisha F Lane as a four story plus, red brick "mill style" structure. Until 1995 the building was home to the Goodnow Department store, a Keene landmark for 100 years. Conversion of the building to the present E F Lane Hotel began in 1999. Meticulous care and consideration was used to transform the building to the majestic structure that stands here today. The E F Lane Hotel highlights the architectural details of the original structure, while offering guests the modern amenities expected by today's traveler.

The E. F. Lane Hotel features forty (40) guest rooms and suites. Each is uniquely decorated with a select and tasteful combination of furnishings and decorations as well as different in size and shape. No two rooms at the hotel are alike. Guests may choose from four (4) styles of rooms: Classic Rooms, Executive Rooms, Chairman Suites, and our Two-Level Chairman Suites. All guest rooms feature Queen or King beds. In addition, some rooms have Queen-size Sofa beds. The history and beauty of this building can be seen in each and every one of our guest rooms. As the comfort of our guests is our focus, all rooms feature telephones with dual phone lines, secure high speed wireless internet access, individual temperature control, 27 inch or larger remote televisions with cable, coffee makers and private bathrooms with hairdryers. For your safety each room is equipped with smoke alarms, fire alarms and sprinklers. Convenient free city parking is also included.
