A diner from Fair Lawn, NJ Apr 3, 2011
We arrived at Boomerangs in Hackensack on Saturday night at 7pm. Our first clue was right there. Only two other patrons in the restaurant. We left to get wine, and decided to go back and try it anyway, despite the clue.
We were greeted and seated quickly and attentively. We reviewed the menu. My husband ordered the rasta pasta. We were told that "we dont serve that dish on weekends." Why, I wondered? Did the price of pasta rise this weekend.
He made another selection, only to find out half of the menu items were "sold-out." Again, I wondered, to whom? The other two patrons?
Next- I ordered the Boom Boom Salad, described in the menu as arugula, feta cheese, cranberries, walnuts, cherry tomatoes, mandarin oranges and vinegrette dressing. When I questioned the salad I received, iceberg with chedder cheese, cherry tomatos with ranch dressing I was told that this was, indeed, the Boom Boom Salad and there was an error in the menu description. Wow, how stupid they did think I was?? We should have left at this point but we were too busy laughing and knowing that this meal was not going to cost much because of the $25.00 gift certificate we had, we continued on. The waitress brought me another salad, more to my liking.
Our entrees arrived, without the side order of green beans we requested. We just assumed they were "sold out" also. The meals were okay at best, smothered in bbq sauce, it was really hard to tell. I had ribs, my husband, jerk chicken. Portions were small but adequate.
We asked to see the dessert menu. We were informed that they had NO desserts available. There were, however, several listed on the menu.
We got the check. It wasn't ours. Not too surprised, I informed the waitress. When she finally brought the correct check, I was surprised to see $25.00 deducted from the bill. She did not know we had the gift certificate. Our total paid was $25.95. A bargain, indeed, with a funny story to tell along with it.

It's so funny to me to be reviewing a Burger King on things like "Ambiance" but I just wanted to mention this place is a service mess. Wrong orders all the time and really really slow at the drive through. There. I've gr

Not sure how they can call this place a "restaurant" as it is more of diner/cafe/luncheonette. Food is okay and they offer many options. My one complaint is the noise level when it is full at lunchtime. It is almost deaf

A great place to chill out, have some above-average pub food, and enjoy a properly poured Guinness. Attentive and friendly wait staff and bartenders treat you like friends & family. Authentic Irish.

This diner was smaller than the usual diner. There was plenty of service--no wait time on a Sunday afternoon. The price was in line with other diners. The atmosphere was cozy. Our hyper eight year old was welcome. W
