There are only two restaurants on Eastern I can attend for every meal and this is one of them. I will start by saying that I wish I could add a star for fantastic food, amazing ambience, and superb service. I am writing this as I await for my entree on the second visit to Bon Chef.
During my first visit on a Friday night, I was with my sister, her boyfriend, and my girlfriend. We were greeted by what I assume to be one of the managing members. We were seated by the server. He introduced himself, and also gave delightful suggestions from the menu. All of us were intrigued by the "Chef's Special Menu" which alternates per the Chef's decision. One look around this place, and it just makes me happy to be here. You get the feel of a romantic night out without the price tag.
On to what we ordered:
Me and my sister's boyfriend:
- Bon Chef's Special Burger
- Substitute French fries for sweet potato fries
I love that the hamburgers have the option to be lettuce wrapped. The hamburger was perfect with the "secret sauce." I normally don't eat carbohydrates for dinner, but the sweet potato fries were so flavorful, that I could not resist!
My girlfriend:
- Chicken marsala with French onion soup
I tasted her chicken marsala, and I do love the mushrooms, and tenderness of the chicken. The French onion soup was very good, because it was somewhat "salty."
My sister:
- Lobster bisque in a bread bowl
Most of the time, I make it a point to order lobster bisque in order to try them all. I truly thought that every restaurant gets it wrong by having it be "too-buttery." I was proven wrong because this place had delicious lobster bisque!
During our dinner, my girlfriend ordered French fries, and they accidentally gave it to the wrong table. They gave her French fries a couple minutes later... and to our surprise, they gave us all dessert (baklava).
We shared the dessert... This is the BEST baklava any of us have ever had.
Our second visit included just my girlfriend and I. Here is what we ordered:
Me:
- Chicken kebab
- Chicken shawarma
The chicken breasts were grilled perfectly (kebab), and I love the Mediterranean sauce they have on the side (I forgot the name of it).
The shawarma caught my attention immediately because after the ending credits of "The Avengers," you see all of them eating at a restaurant with "great shawarma" as described by Tony Stark. If I were a part of the Avengers or had to recommend the best shawarmas in Las Vegas, I would be telling everyone to go to Bon Chef.
My girlfriend:
- Salmon with shrimp scampi
I am allergic to shrimp, but the salmon was delicious. A bit crispy on the outside, and juicy in the inside.
