Yantis Restaurant Guide

I have never had a piece of bad tasting, too tough, dried out meat at Big Smith's BBQ in the 17 years we've lived in this area of Texas! Can't say that about any other local BBQ place! Only complaint I have is that I wish they were opened the first part of the week! :o)

My favorite place on earth to eat. Been taking my friends there for over 15+ yrs. now. The all-you-can-eat beef ribs are simply the best BBQ deal you can get!! Service is fun and relaxed as you get to know the waitresses. Entire staff is very friendly and genuinely appreciates your business. It is a true Texas BBQ joint, with all the good things that implies. Well worth our 60 mile one-way trip each month!
p.s. Kid-friendly rating is mixed. Kids can't truly apprciate this place as they generally finish way too soon, before the men are finished stuffing themselves, get bored or restless, and cause commotion.

I have been taking the guys from Nordstrom Valve to lunch here every year right before Christmas for I don't know how many years. It doesn't look like much from the outside and the inside is best described as rustic. BUT the BBQ is top shelf. Very much worth the drive to Yantis!

If you really like outstanding Texas BBQ this is for you. The outside is very rustic and you shell and eat peanuts while you wait. Oh yes, and you throw the hulls on the floor.
This is five star food served in a down home atmoshpere, Texas style. If you are looking for velvet covered chairs and candlelit tables just keep on driving. But if your looking for great BBQ pull in and drag up a chair.
