My wife and I have eaten both lunch and dinner here. We were touring the area from the resorts further south and chanced upon Bamboo. This is not a resort experience, but a purely Hawaiian one (as is Hawi) so don't expect Disneyland. What you can expect is masterfully interpreted (Asian) fresh fish entrees and locally-inspired, excellent salads. Lunch was so unique we decided to try dinner another day but were less impressed with execution and inspiration, altho' local color and entertainment made it worth the trip. Bamboo shares space with a touristy gift shop downstairs and a wonderful art gallery upstairs. Great value, but not for entertaining.
