About Atomic Cafe
The Atomic Cafe is a little bit of the islands in the city. Young and old alike are fascinated by the murals on the walls! Lively patio scene when weather permits. Part of the historic downtown restaurant district.
You'll love the atmosphere at The Atomic Cafe, with its bright tropical colors, loud, pulsing Caribbean music, and beautifully-designed sports murals. The meals are also a wonder to behold, such as the crispy sweet potato chips, jerk-chicken, steaks, Cuban pork, or the wonderfully tropical-flavored fresh fish. The menu definitely has something for every taste bud. If you'd rather sit outside, the cafe has a large patio, which also has its own bar for ease and convenience. Weekend bands play here, so you'll always have the chance to enjoy some good, local music.

Diner reviews of Atomic Cafe
A diner from Lexington, KY
Dec 18, 2009
My in-laws picked the Atomic Cafe based on its reputation amongst Lexingtonians, as they are not residents. The reservation for sixteen people was lost, despite calling the day before to assure that it was still in place. We waited for about an hour and then were put into separate booths and tables, making the traditional speeches, gifts, thank yous, etc. were impossible to do and had to be set aside. The waitress was uncaring and rude, the food was disgusting, making my sister-in-law quite ill. When my father-in-law gave his credit card to the CLEARLY intoxicated manager, he kept the credit card until we plead with him to run it through. Upon giving my father-in-law the credit slip to sign, the manager watched him very closely, not leaving the table as one does traditionally. We gathered our things and began to leave slowly, as my father-in-law had recently had a full knee replacement and required a cane to walk, the manager shouted out (in front of a full Friday crowd) that my in-laws were 'the type of people who run out on cheques' and to 'go back to [my in-laws hometown.] We attempted to ignore this slight as we just wanted to leave at this point; however, the manager followed closely behind. He then attempted to take a swing at my father-in-law and would have succeeded in making contact had my brother-in-law not been between the two as they neared the exit. Yes, he attempted to hit an older gentleman on a cane. The manager of this restaurant needs to be sacked, post haste, his behavior is rude and the restaurant lousy.
