The place was an absolute nightmare...... The service was terrible, the appetizers were burned and I had to take my son to the restroom only to find it worse than a gym locker, there were fesses in the toilets that was not even flushed and I wouldn't let my son touch anything, when I returned to the table the steak looked like something in a mess hall from the caveman days. Needles to say, I would never recommend this place.

Last time I was there was in 1979) We used to go there once a week & get popcorn & watch the movie BUT my Most fave thing was having the Fries with Melted Cheese at the Wooden Nickel Restaurant. I now live in Sydney Australia BUT I still have very fond memories BECAUSE I had to come back to Australia, the Manager gave me a big box of the candy coated Mints as a going away gift

We love this place!! Great atmosphere especially when it is chilly and the fireplaces are lit. Excellent food and soooo family friendly. We are very fussy when it comes to our steaks and here, a 5 star review is not enough!! I almost hate to share this treasure.

Best Steaks ever! Moved away from NJ to AZ and whenever we go back its on our must visit list. The 24oz steak is incredible. However, avoid the 48oz as its just a double-thick 24oz steak and is usually not as juicy. I'm drooling just thinking of that amazing steak.

Actually I would rate it 0. I am reviewing Arthur's New Brunswick Location. On 7/27 I called to see if they would accept my AE Gift Card. They said yes. On 7/28 I arrived with my party and asked again as soon as I arrived about their acceptance of Gift Card. Again I was told Yes. After we ate the meals and when it came time to pay I was told they would no longer accept gift card. I explained how I had called AND asked when I arrived and was told yes. I told (and had to show) the Manager the number on the back of the card so she could call and verify the card was good and worth the $100.00. This was very embarrasing going through all of this with all the diners watching. Apparently the Manager does communicate well with her staff since they do not know the gift card policy. We were having a family celebration and this certainly ruined the evening. They finally and reluctantly accepted it. I have contacted American Express. The manager told me that this policy was brand new. I would recommmend everyone ask the Manager when you go in if they will accept your cards because she might change her mind in the middle of the meal.

Arthurs Tavern is one of our favorite places. I am a submarine veteran and visit Groton, Connecticut every year, a trip which HAS to include a pilgimage to Arthurs in North Bruswick, New Jersey... Best damn steak on the planet...PERIOD. Wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Easy to access from Jersey Turnpike...Wonderful staff...Simply an enjoyable experience from the time you walk in the door until you clear the parking lot. It doesn't get any better than sitting before that big stone fireplace, listening to the crackle and pop of the burning logs and getting wrapped around one of Arthur's lumberjack size steaks. Folks, you have to die and get past Saint Peter for it to get any better than that. There are small dogs that weigh less than one of Arthur's steaks. Anyone who leaves Arthur's still hungry is in dire need of professional help. Wonderful place...ranks right up there with Aladin's Cave and that opening scene in Errol Flynn's ROBIN HOOD, when all of Prince John's toadies are feasting on beef and drinking out of heavy gobblets before a roaring fire and Robin crashes the party with a fresh killed deer. i have moved out of new jersey 4 years ago yet whenever i want to go eat a really large,great tasting, and affordable steak i think of arthurs.
i am in the u.s. marine corps and i love steak i have eaten in steak houses up and down the east, and west coast.i've also had steak in japan and i still mentaly drool whenever i think of arthurs and as i do at least once a year i will stop there soon to enjoy another glorious steak.oh yeah the rest of the food is good also.
