If only this restaurant were closer to home! We live in Maine and first dines at Antelao in the fall of '08. It was recommended by the B&B owner where we were staying nearby. We were going to traveling this way again recently so we made plans to stay at the same B&B because we loved the inn but also because we wanted to dine at Anelao again. The food is marvelous as is everything about the place. We didn't feel rushed at all. And the sorbet sampler is wonderful! I bet everything on the menu is wonderful. The owners take pride in what they do and it shows!

This restaurant is a treasure in our local area. We enjoy the consistency in the quality of the food, cleanliness, and impeccable service. Antelao's is small, and seating is limited. We are "regulars", however, even though you are encouraged to order "everything" from appetizers, right on through to one of their fabulous deserts, be prepared! As you savor your espresso and desert, you'll be told, "sorry to rush you, but we're going to need the table". Rude indeed! There is no lingering here, you'll have your rolls packed up, (even if you had to wait for your server to get your order), out the door you go. Perhaps it would be more courteous to tell patrons before they order dessert that the table will be "needed". Oh, that's right, they would lose money that way, too bad, the place has many great attributes. We also feel that they should realize that it's their "regulars" that keep them afloat during those down times when business isn't so great. Going out for a relaxing dinner should be just that, RELAXING!! BTW, during summer, the place is HOT, they keep the air conditioner at a minimum, and it is sweltering. I suppose that's another way to get people out the door. If they remedy these flaws the place would be nearly perfect.
