From the appetizers through to the desserts, there are no bad choices to be made at 3 Steeple Street. All I can suggest is that you go back again and again and work your way through the menu. The service staff is pleasant and actually seems to be happy that you came in; the bartenders are friendly and quite knowledgeable about their craft.(Stop in on a Friday and just try to stump Mai with a request - the woman is a mixology magician!); Chef Julio and his staff treat each meal as if it was the only meal they had to concentrate on. The dinner specials are..well..special! Try the prime rib if you're a meat eater. Have them finish it "a la Vudsie" -brought up to your desired done-ness under the broiler. What that does for the taste of prime rib makes my mouth water just thinking about it. If you're a chocolate cake lover, try a slab (yes, a slab - no dieters need apply) of their chocolate cake and a cup of coffee for dessert. If you're lucky you'll get to chat with the owners, Bill and Julie Nahas. Two nicer people you'll never meet. The food is great, the staff is a joy, and even the building is a Providence landmark. They do what they do VERY well, and that's why I keep going back.

The eclectic menu leaves little to be desired. You are offered a wealth of choices- amazing appetizers, chowder that cannot be missed, deli sandwiches, enormous salads, burgers, pasta, vegetarian dishes, as well as lunch specials, dinner entrees and loads of specialty dishes that cannot be gotten anywhere else. The service is efficient and friendly. They offer a selection of wines, numerous domestic and imported beers as well as a full bar, coffees, teas and juices of all sorts. The ambience includes stone and brick walls, as well as original floors. Giving it a sense of history. Original artwork brings a level of class without pretention. The prices are beyond reasonable. The whole restaurant is perfect for an intimate date, as well as for a larger group ready for lively conversation (kids included). All of this is managed in an unassuming way without any sense of condescencion. Hope you enjoy it as much as I.
