The Italian Gardens name was created many decades ago and continues to be passed down as the family tradition. Orazio George Ruta, the founder of Italian Gardens, opened the restaurants approximately 40 years ago. Mr. Ruta grew up in Sicily and moved to the United States more than 60 years ago. His passion to live the American dream drove his creativity in the kitchen. Mr. Ruta started a number of restaurants around the Sandusky area. He gained great success in the restaurant business and Italian Gardens became a household name. Mr. Ruta still uses his knowledge of authentic Italian cooking in the dishes today!
