This is one of the best values in DC as well as the best Thai food that I have had here. The service is exceptional and they always have good music playing. The sushi may not be totally "classic or authentic" but it is a THAI restaurant not a sushi restaurant!

As I am always in search for a good sushi place in my neighborhood, when Thai Chef was recently renovated to include a sushi bar, I paid a visit without any delay. Despite its chic open-air decor that I liked, my experience was quite disappointing and unpleasant with respect to their sushi and their service. The $19 or so Deluxe Sushi Dinner had some pieces that seemed like they were left out sitting on the counter as the pieces of fish were dry and hard on the rim. It was quite surprising to me that sushi served in a restaurant (not at a buffet, etc.) was in that kind of shape, so I complained. The server took it up to the sushi bar chef. The Japanese chef came and utterly denied that his sushi was dry (the evidence had been taken away and thrown out by then). Then he told me that "Noone else is complaining. If you don't like my sushi, no need to come back, OK?" I was so shocked that I couldn't say anything. I had never felt so insulted at a restaurant before. When my boyfriend found out what he said to me in Japanese, he talked to the manager, and she apologized for the chef's attitude, but we lost our appetite and our dinner was ruined. In the end, they did take 50% off the dish, but I added the difference to the tip. I just hope that they would realize what I wanted was a sincere apology (not denial and insult), not some petty cash.

We have been to Thai Kingdom, located on K St, near 21st, on two occasions, ten years apart. This has been a treat, both times. On this trip we dined on appetizers alone, fish cakes (tad mun), pork satay, zesty duck, chicken with lemongrass soup, an ...

I ordered chicken satay and it came out with lots of the best peanut sauce I've had in metro area. Other restaurants' sauce I've had tastes more like liquidy peanut butter. I also had the pork in garlic sauce which was also really good as recommend ...

Had a great meal in a great setting. The place is full on Thai, something like an educational lesson in Thai culture, and cuisine. Definitely worth a try!
