I currently live in the northwest but am originally from Eastern Kentucky. Often described as a "hole-in-the-wall" the Loudon Square Buffet is one of the most classic down home eating establishments I have found anywhere. The decor probable hasn't been updated in fifty years but that just adds to the feel of running into a long lost friend. This isn't fancy food-it's real food. Meat and potatoes. Beans and corn. Homemade pickles and pickled beet. Fried fish that I just love. This isn't a heart-healthy menu by the way, but real southern cooking never was. My only complaint would be the lack of choices for dessert, but I am usually so stuffed that I don't mind. Last time I was there the price was a very reasonable $6.50 but it may h...
