The food is consistently good. It's reminiscent of supper clubs in the 1950s, and the menu has hardly changed. Their saving grace is their bar and their steaks. Vegetables are overcooked, starches are bland. Their bread is horrid; it's frozen and they pop it in the oven "fresh" for you. Stick to their prime rib, the prime rib sandwich (pay the extra $1 it's worth it for "choice cut" . . . and the buns they use are decent, the only piece of good bread there). Other good choices include the black and blue salad. Fish and seafood are consistently rubbery, avoid them. Order a cosmopolitan cocktail to help you with the tacky ambiance.
