This was the best local dining we found during our week's stay in Montgomery. The food is homemade, hot, and generous. The fried chicken special was FABULOUSLY DELICIOUS, which included homemade cornbread and lots of sides. The staff was effcient and friendly. Best of all was the homemade desserts that we took home because we were too full to eat them right after dinner. We came back three times in one week - and always impressed.

We have been eating at OMSH for 16 years - the people and food are great!!! Try their fried shrimp - best in the area. Burgers and CFS ain't bad either. German chocolate cake is to die for.

I have been having breakfast at the Old Montgomery Steak House at least 4 times a week for the past 10 years. There is other places in the area to have breakfast at and my wife and I have tried them all. We rate The Old Montgomery Steak House #1 over them all.

The best breakfast tacos I've ever had. Dining available on the front porch. Just off the Montgomery Trace, a scenic, winding road though the Sam Houston National Forest. Great for a relaxed meal before, after, or as a break during a ride through the area. Popular stop for motocyclists.
Mom and pop, down home food at very reasonable prices.
