Welcome to Island Café. Located in the Petworth District of Northwest Washington DC, the Island Café will transport you to the Caribbean. Serving only the choicest meats and freshest ingredients, the Island Café is known for its authentic Jamaican and West Indian cuisine, while also fusing a little American flavor into the mix. Dishes seasoned just right with traditional Island flavors, will keep you coming back for more. Open for lunch and dinner, we serve a Jamaican style breakfast all day long, and can also cater events for any and all occasions. Known as the Home of the Bembeah, you will come for the food, but stay for the lively late night activities. Live music, and dancing helps to work off some of the great food you will eat. I have been a customer there for over 14 years. The owners are so friendly and the environment is great. I go there every Friday night for happy hour and to stretch my legs. The music is so relaxing because I love oldies but goodies.

The food at The real "Taste of Jamaica" should be a part of the food pyramid. To be eaten at a minimum of once a day!!!!!!!!

Very friendly. Food was great especially their jerk shrimp! They are definaly one of the better jamaican restaurant in the city.
