My husband and I stopped for the night at Yuma and found the Hunter steakhouse online. The most recent ratings were terrible and we almost cancelled our reservations after reading them. We just finished our dinner there and enjoyed it very much. The air conditioning was not at all cold. The service was great. we found no fault atm all with the food. The sourdough bread was warm and soft. The tableside salad service was unique letting you pick exactly what you wanted on your salad with a side dressing of your choice.

My wife and I have been going to Hunter Steakhouse for eight years. This restaurant closed two years ago and reopened under new ownership about a year later. We were apprehensive but gave it a try on Valentine’s Day 2011. The food and service were excellent, perhaps a little better than ever. Imagine our disappointment and embarrassment—we took guests—at the Valentine’s disaster that awaited us this year. First, the service was quite slow and the waitress seemed very rushed. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were 50 percent smaller than in years past. We ordered filet mignon as we always do and the meat was not cooked to order and was fatty and flavorless. One of our guests ordered prime rib and it was so poorly cooked that he sent it back twice. It took forever to get our check. This is the first time that I was so disappointed in a restaurant that I hunted down the manager and told her how disappointed we were and how the quality of the service and food were unacceptable considering that they bill themselves as “a refined upscale steakhouse…” Our check was $75.00 just for dinner without drinks. We could have eaten at Outback Steakhouse and enjoyed better quality at half the price.

I really do try to give this restaurant a chance once a year. It's always the same result though. Bad coffee, food that is just edible and lacks anything positive to write about. Anybody who eats there and writes a positive review has very bad taste ...

Made reservations for 11/11/11, which was my our 44th wedding anniversary. We mentioned that to the hostest as we went in. We were wanting a nice quiet table or booth with soft lighting and music. Instead, we were seated in the bar area with TVs on every wall. We should have asked about being moved, but figured this was the only area available. Although it was November, we were seated right under an air conditioner vent. We did ask that the lighting be dimmed and were accommodated. The food was fair. I specifically asked that it be delivered hot. It was warm. I watched to see how long my water glass sat empty before being refilled. My glass sat empty for approximately 15 minutes althought there were only 3 other people in this section and very few in the main dining area. We noticed on the way out that there were empty tables in the main dining area with music and candlelit tables. Why, on such an event, we were sat in the bar area, listening to sports the whole evening, I do on know. I enjoy sports, but not on the evening of my 44th wedding anniversary. Our service was mediocre at best. Two years ago, we had a very nice dining experience there. We now, will never go back and will certainly be telling everyone we know about our dining experience. I would NOT recommend this restaurant. It has a long ways to go in terms of service and ambiance to even come close to the being a "Fine" restaurant.

This is the premier restaurant in Yuma! The food is very good, the service is excellent, the drinks are sublime. It is well managed, and clean. This is not a place to take small children, but a place for a romantic dinner, or a clientel meeting, and especially for after work drinks on a Friday eve. Please leave the children with a sitter, and take them someplace else at another time. The bar sits apart from the main dining area, but also has a dining area for those interested in watching TV. You will not be disappointed when visiting The Hunter Steakhouse in Yuma Az. for lunch, dinner or just for fun at the bar.
