WONDERFUL FOOD AND SERVICE!!!! Fish fry is the best around. Cant find a better burger. Well worth the wait. Kuddos to this place! We will bw back thats for sure.

Everything was awesome...BUT, what's with the nickel and diming crap...a quarter for a pickle?? and no refill on pop? not heard of...Will make me think about coming back next time...

It is the beef that (too me) counts the most and they have very high quality beef (I know that for a fact) and prepare it perfectly every time. I have been a regular customer for about 15 years and the Swanee burger is awesome and won't disappoint. The fries are pretty decent too.

They have remodeled the place and it has a very nice ambiance (woodsy sports bar feel.) I highly recommend this restaurant and whenever I go to a different place and get a burger I always regret not getting it at the House of Coates.

The service is fairly normal. Burgers were OK, BUT, the bun is plain as day, not toasted and dry as the proverbial bone, and made the burger rather uneventful at best. They should check out the Twin Point Tavern in Lake Elmo to see how a burger SHOULD be prepared!

Pretty good beef we think, but the tragic buns really detract from the potential. The fries are pretty lame and think fryer temps are way too low resulting in non-crisp fries...kinda 'wilted'.
Kinda fake if'n ya aks us; and you haven't!

They do serve a good Coke and ice in a real glass.
(Not the extremely nasty plastic bar cups that leach outgassing into your drink, as the petroleum product they are)

They get 5* on drink quality. (getting rare to find as Pepsico offers owners a huge discount to go with Pepsi. Many restaurants have lost OUR business due to this alone. If you charge like it's a coke...it had better be one too!
If it's Pepsi, we expect a HEFTY discount for reduction in quality!

Overall, We'd give this a three start rating due to poor fries, and a lamely prepared burger.
Not really BAD, but certainly not very memorable either. Except you WILL remember the size..pretty darn huge!
The place has a good bar feel though. Very comfortable biker bar. If you drink beer, this may be a very good outlet for that.

Give it a try..your experience may differ. We may return, but certainly no rush.

Never had a bad meal or service. My favorite is the walleye dinner, husband loves the Swanee Burger. Our Retired parents also love to go there. Great for all ages and types of people.

Good Food Excellent menu very reasonable prices friendly staff.

The best burger around the {Swannee} burger. All the food selection is good. And the bartenders are quick and personable. The place is always busy and could easily expand and they would fill the place up. Just plain great chow at reasonable prices. Go there you won't be disapointed!!
