After change of owners China Penn became one of our favorites for a reasonable priced Dinner or Lunch. Food is excellent for the price, service is pretty good, and the choice of different dishes is outstanding. We alsoo liked the interior, it's that the whole shopping plaza is not inviting, but ignore that, once inside you will be surprised. We live for the summer months in the Mohnton area, this Restaurant is one of our favorates for Lunch or Dinner during that time.

The Thai Food here is excellent and I love the huge pink radish rose (edible) that was added to my plate for beautiful presentation.
The staff is very nice and for the best experience, eat in.

Great sushi and fresh.Excellent Thai Cuisine. Price reasonable and good portion served.Em...I cann't wait have a dinner again.Oh, China Penn have a 'Special Lunch Menu'$5-$6 only.

Not just Chinese food!! They also have a sushi bar and a separate Thai menu. Thai food is awesome here!! Now I don't have to drive to Wyomissing for some Panang Curry.

Atmosphere may not be as good as other higher priced Chinese retaurants but food and service more than make up for it. I am particular about sushi and theirs is very, very good. Prices are reasonable and Jack and the rest of the staff are extremely nice. I always get the sushi but my wife said that every cooked meal she had was fantastic. Highly recommended!

I have lived in Exeter all of my life, and only recently began ordering from China Penn. I had heard bad things about the old business, but the new business is SPECTACULAR. The service is great, staff is friendly, and the sushi is the best around. I live part time in Manhattan, and China Penn's sushi beats any sushi bar there! Sounds strange, but its true!

The owners did change in the past year so ignore the older reviews. The food was excellent. It took about 45 min for us go to get take out, but it was very good.

The new renovations and owners are fab! The sushi is the best in the Reading-area. Its not the old China Penn that had a bad reputation. Everything is new. Don't let the exterior fool you - inside the food, decor, service, etc is great!

We love this place! It's ambience shouts chinese restaurant that hasn't been renovated in a while--so don't take a date! But we love taking our 2 yr-old to their place! They have lovely service, are real people, with friendly attitudes. It's not the best chinese food I've ever had, but it's good. And they have a great, great take-out special!

Excellent food, excellent value. Atmosphere is a little outdated. The staff is friendly and courteous. Always something extra if you order take out(extra fried rice, egg roll, or fortune cookies)

I ordered the General Tso's chicken combination platter. It came with fried rice, an egg roll and wonton soup for $7.00. The chicken was too fatty-I got one piece that was just fat and skin. And the rice was stale and not very tasty. The egg roll wasn't bad. I didn't try the soup. Overall, I know I could get better food for the same price.
