Old pork has a very distinct repugnant flavor- you can certainly find it at this place. Stopped in for the especiales diarios (lunch specials) and orderd the Masita de cerdo frita (fried pork chunks)- Bad choice! Pork was old, tasted horrible, no Latin flavor or seasonongs and worst of all, it wasn't even fried! Major dissapointment- could not eat the crap. Came with a side order of rice and beans-the beans were definitely Dominican and were superb, just not enough- and the rice was perfect as well (difficult to screw up rice tho)- the Presidente was cold and fresh (no skunky flavor). The waitress was a sweetheart- attentive with just the right amount of friendly banter. Overall, I rate the experience with 2 stars out of 5 with 5 being perfect. Due to a paucity of Dominican oriented dining venues here in the Raleigh/Durham area, I will give this place another shot within the next few days or so. Hopefully, today's experience was a fluke and not indicative of the establishment's true flavor.

I've visited this restaurant several times. It's so good to me that I've recommended and have invited and brought along at least a total of 10 of my friends. It was my first time eating Jamaican and I fell in love with it.

The food was awesome and the hospitality outstanding. I sampled a soup made with chick peas and it was incredible. I'm not familiar with the neighborhood but everyone seemed very friendly and inviting.

Awful place, Poor Service, bad food and terrible atmosphere.
Went there last night; the place doesn't have proper ventilation, so all the smoke and smell from the kitchen gets into the dining area and lingers there making it a very smelly event.
The service is horrible, the waiter messed up my wife’s order, she didn’t get the correct dish and we had to pay for wrong dish the waiter gave her.
The food and drinks are pricey and not great at all; we had to wait more than an hour to get our food, and another 45 minutes for our check, for a combine two hours repulsive restaurant experience.

I am a Dominican mother from NJ and I have to say that having this little restaurant close to my new apartment is a blessing. When I am too tired to cook I go with my family here. I just hope that they don't start liking this food better than mines. The place is not fancy but they have background music, a couple of TV's on the dominican channel, and a friendly staff. I ordered the rice with red beans and tostones with bistec ensebollado. The order was fairly quick and the food was hot. I hate it when it is not. All in all i will visit again.

I came to this restaurant with my girlfriend. I am Dominican and she is Canadian. I was looking for a place just like this to hopefully show her how good dominican food is since i'm not the best chef. I have to say the food tasted like my mothers cooking it was very good. We even danced to a few songs that they had playing in the background. Overall it was a neat experience and a nice atmosphere i will try to visit here often so i can taste each dish.

I will first say I am from NY the Bronx to be exact where there is a Dominican restaurant in every neighborhood. The Carribean Cafe could not hold a candle to them. I ordered takeout. My order was for Pernil (roast pork), platanos maduros (sweet plaintains & arros con gandules).
The plaintains were ok.. the pernil was very stringy and did not have that distinct latin flavor... the rice and peas lacked the same.
The setup of this place is awful when you walk in you are basically already in the dining area. It looks as if they were in a rush to open because there are cables stickign out of some walls and unfinished paint. I was sadly dissapointed the Triangle needs a good Latin restaurant meaning Dominican or puerto-rican.. I know there is a fair share of mexican restaurants. Sorry CC you get athumbs down. By the way I had Flan for dessert it was the worst I have ever had.
