Restaurant Description

Blue Velvet occupies a pool-adjacent deck at The Flat, a new downtown residential development. The two dining areas and adjacent lounges (Blue Lounge & Red Lounge) are characterized by sleek contemporary lines, polished wood and textile accents, and pool and skyline views of downtown LA. The fireplace, DJ station and wine cellar are each ensconced in glass, while abstract wall sculptures create a hip yet inviting ambiance. Blue Velvet's design also incorporates green elements such as rapidly renewable materials and a rooftop garden that produces herbs, vegetables and fruit for the kitchen.

The globally inspired wine list is dynamic and affordable, and features varied appellations that complement the diverse menu. Prices generally range from $30-$90, while a Reserve List showcases more celebrated labels. A wide selection of wines is offered by the glass.

Experienced mixologists create classic cocktails with signature Blue Velvet twists, such as herb-infused tea cocktails. Freshly squeezed juices are paired with premium tequilas, high-end rums and international vodkas. A selection of single-malt Scotches, small-batch Bourbons, beer and fine liquers and stocked at both bars.
