Our menu is unique for its featured specials, its healthier food options, and its keen consideration for gourmet aesthetics. Our specials allow our chefs to express their creativity and to take advantage of the seasonal availability of certain foods. In addition to traditional Japanese seasonal favorites, we offer dishes influenced by Asian, Latin, European and American cuisine.
Some of our customers wonder why we offer European style specials and desserts and whether these dishes can be any good at a Japanese restaurant, so perhaps a note of explanation is in order.
Chef Yasu was trained in classic French cuisine and worked at Le Gavroche, a Michelin 3 star restaurant in London, for many years. He left Le Gavroche to accept the position of chef at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C., where he worked for more than 10 years.
Chef Yasu now works with Chef Yoshi at the sushi bar, but sometimes he can't resist the urge to get in the kitchen and create some of his favorite French and European dishes. We believe that Chef Yasu's creations add an extra dimension to the Sushi Yoshi menu and make Sushi Yoshi unique among local Japanese restaurants. We are honored to have Chef Yasu as a member of the Sushi Yoshi family and are pleased to be able to offer some of his special dishes and fine desserts for your dining pleasure.
Please check our specials regularly, as they change frequently and are usually only offered for a limited time.
We hope that you enjoy the creative foods you will discover here just as much as we have enjoyed creating them. Eat well and live well!
Yours,
The Sushi Yoshi Family
