After eating here several time, my wife will not let me go to the buffet places any more. The food quality here is far superior, and yes if you go more than once or twice you are just about family. Combine that with donuts from George's other place (AM Donuts) and you just can't beat it.

This place has great Ramen noodles. Excellent broth, and it's prices. The owner, and waitress were very friendly. If you're Japanese, and looking for the great noodle shop this is it!! The next one is in San Antonio that's just like this one. I will for sure to be back, the next time I'm visiting Abilene.

The best place for Asian food in Abilene - real tasty. Have even ordered 'chicken-on-a-stick' for colleagues at a local college Christmas party in December 2010. The entire amount (and it was quite a bit) was gone before I could go and check if anything's left. And all my colleagues are typical West Texans - and they seemed to have loved it!

Taste of Asia is fanatstic! It's a family run business. Kids of the staff are frequently seen playing in the big room with customers' kids. George and his wife, Sokul make you feel completely at home. It is friendly, relaxed and best of all, delicious! There is no MSG added besides what is in the condiments. All the food is freshly made from scratch. I have way too many food sensitivities, and one of the reasons we frequent Taste of Asia is because there are not a lot of additives and preservatives in their food like there are in chain restaurants. The beef lemon grass, shrimp rolls, ginger chicken, crispy shrimp, spring rolls, bankor ahn soug (can't remember how to spell it), phad thai and all the soups are fabulous! We're retired military and have eaten all over. This is authentic SE Asian food. It's not Americanized. We are so lucky to have the Kim Family in Abilene. We eat here whenever we are in town. We live an hour away and frequently drive in JUST to eat here! We love it!! You will not be disappointed with the food. The spices and the flavors are delectable. Enjoy!!

I seriously think that the two negative reviewers were not real diners that have been there, if you know what I mean (sour grapes?). TOA has been my Asian food oasis in dry West Texas for years. I'm an Asian food junkie and that's all we eat when we're in Dallas, Austin, etc. The "Diner from Dyess" asks where's the Vietnamese?? Duhh...the most famous of all Vietnamese dishes is #2(Pho) @ $6.50...helloooo?? Anyone who really knows Asian cuisines knows that the highlights of those cuisines are delicate, fragrant broths, plentiful noodles, fresh vegetables and little bits of meat. If you can't appreciate the cuisine for what it is then feel free to frequent your local Golden Corral for the slabs of meat you crave. The spring rolls are one of my favs...fresh noodles, vegetables, herbs and shrimp rolled up in a fragile wrap that teases the eye with the indication of the sweet shrimp lying beneath its translucent blanket. If you've ever been to an authentic Korean BBQ then you know that fatty meat cuts (i.e. pork belly) are traditional and prized. You must try the bbq beef stick skewers here...they are also on the top of my list. Ginger chicken and their spicy Asian chicken salad w/ chiles are also great (Dyess diner says bland food?!??). The diner with the toilet remark obviously had no actual comment on the food and was likely a planted response from competition (which is absurd since Abilene has no real competition). If you try one Asian restaurant in Abilene make it this one with the family atmosphere, kitschy decor, monthly Bollywood buffet and super prices.

If George does not win you over with his friendly approach and his jovial attitude, his delicious food surely will. Excellent cooking backed by a very friendly staff that makes you feel right at home. Their fusion oriented approach means that they are bound to win numerous friends from different cultures as is espoused by the multitude of pictures that you see there.
We stopped there on the way back home after a Thanksgiving vacation. Our experience was an exclamation point on a wonderful holiday.
George is the best in business and if his restaurant figures in the top tier of any restaurant classification, it is because it deserves it. A must-visit for anybody

Where's the vietnamese quisine, for example the spring rolls were larger in size but lacked flavor as well as the condiment that came with it. I always knew there was fish sauce in the sauce but never could smell it. I ordered my kids chicken fried rice and it came with the whole egg in it. I've found that they were very over priced as well as serving the crummy food. I ordered a beef bowl that came with 1% beef and 20% noodles the rest was peanuts and garnish. The beef was very fatty and was bbq w/ a sweet sauce it was foul. I would reccomend no on eat there.

MSG my food was glowing as is came to me from what must have been the toilet. The food is hideous to all extent of the word. Honestly awful food. Good service waitress was super nice. Can't give em credit beyond good service because the food tastes so bad

Awesome food! I've eaten there several times and have tried something different everytime. The owner George is so helpfull when ordering, he'll answer any question you may have. Great ambiance too. The best place in town for Asian cuisine!

Great authentic food from several different lands. Very friendly owner. We go there often and have friends who go there several times a week. When we have friends who want good Asian food -especially if they have traveled to Asia, this is where we recommend

Best and most authentic Asian restaurant in West Texas. Food is always fresh and prepared AFTER you order. They will make accommodations for your specific palate. No buffet mass preparation here. The owner, George Kim, will help you order if you are not sure about dishes. Same staff have been there for many years and they have a way of making you feel right at home! They do not use MSG but will explain that some of the bottled sauces available to use at your table (soy sauces, etc.) may have MSG in them. Love this place and have never had a bad dish. The only way I can imagine someone not liking this place is if they are used to Asian buffet food that has been very Americanized. Always a new experience!

I drive 5 hours to get to Abilene and this is the first place we go to eat. The food is great and the owner is most gracious to meet any special needs, such as a celiac condition.

The food and service are lacking desire. The food was very bland/disgusting and did not appease the palate. If you want good food do not come here!
