 we found waimea ranch house from on line reveiws. it sounded wonderful, except for the negative review written by an obvisouly disgruntled customer who seems upset that they did not get some discount.
we would like to set the record straight. Being fairly well traveled, with frequent trips to the islands, we were very happy with the service, food, and atmosphere here at the Waimea Ranch house.
We began our meal with the baked mozzarella, awonderful dish of molten cheese baked with a spicy marinara sauce. Then we had the ceasar salad and the most delicious tomatoe and fresh mozzarella salad we have ever tasted. it was finished with extra virgin oil flavored with lemon, limes and orange. it was most reminescent of our time in Tuscany. For entees we had the Rideye steak finished with roasted garlic and lemon, and the scampi with herbs and curry butter over polenta.
for desert the pear poached in chianti awsome.
we understand from the attentive staff that the lettuces and the herbs are grown just outside in their culinary garden. I also saw artichokes .celeriac, and beets. maybe we can enjoy these on another visit.
I just can't beleive that person who said those awful things about this restaurant. I would highly recomend them and after talking to local residents wwe wish them a long run in this town.
