 Avoid Rene's if rainy weather and you want to change reservations from patio to inside. Rude Hostess will tell you, "you made the resersation outside you live with it". She offered no reasonable alternative to eat inside at our quiet and polite request, rather she opened the door and said goodbye when we said maybe we should try somewhere else! We left noting several empty tables that seemed very acceptable for inside seating under the circumstances.

Having had this restaurant recommended we became really disappointed when we went there for dinner. We will for sure not have dinner at Rene again! Several issues combined with a price level that left a lot to wish for made this a bad experience. First of all we were forgot by the waiters for about 15 minutes upon arrival. Secondly, the waiter that was responsible for our table was extremely unattentive, i.e., did not bring menus until we explicitely asked for it, did not ask to how the food was, did not converse beyond pure serving the food, and did not catch when we were out of drinks. Thirdly, the food was a real disappointment. The lobster bisque hardly tasted from lobster, and was clearly made with starch rather than cream and reduced lobster fond - tasteless. We complained and got new appetizers! The main dish, Tenderloin of Venison, was also a disappointment. The meat itself was sort of okay but the presentation was uninspiring and boring. All in all Rene is a wanna-be restaurant that pretends to be a whole lot more than it can deliver. We cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The food and service is impeccable.There is a very good wine selection and deserts are delicious. This is my favorite restaurant in Sedona. it is expensive and the portions are average. This is great for that romantic dinner!
