 I was disappointed in the quality of the food. The green beans were definitely canned, could not taste or see the crab in the crab cakes, and the grilled fish was over seasoned. Meals are pricey so I expected better quality. I wanted to like this restaurant since we don't have a wide selection of restaurants to choose from in this area but I won't be going back.

 We love going to the Half Shell on Tuesday nights to relax, unwind, meet old and new friends, enjoy the best seafood and listen to the band. It's a wonderful hometown feel.

 Some of the best local seafood I have had in the general Baton Rouge area. Like everyone else said, all of the food is excellent. The service is great, other wait staff members came up to help me even though it wasn't their table. I absolutely love getting the oyster rockefeller poboy with a side of the awesome onion rings. I also love the oysters and especially the oyster bar trash. The only thing I noticed is that the Prairieville location seems to be more on top of everything whereas the Baton Rouge location isn't always as consistent

 I live near Gonzales and have many choices for seafood and I always enjoy going to On The Half Shell in Prairieville. Never been disappointed by the friendly service or quality of food. I bring out of towners here for a taste of Cajun food. Oysters are wonderful with 6 grilled choices plus raw. Fried dishes are perfectly prepared. Love the choice of sweet potato fries. Seafood potato is not the best I've ever had but all other dishes are good representations. Some nights they have live music in the bar, usually a two piece band. Enjoyable place.

 First time I tried the Rockefeller poboy with Oysters and it really was the best poboy I ever had. Also had a mix of all 5 of the different oysters on the appetizer list and all were spectacular. Service was excellent, waitresses who didn't even have me as a table still came up and helped me out and were all friendly. I will be back regardless of the higher price.

 This restuarant has excellent mouth watering food. The grilled Crawfish Bluff is a must have anytime you enter the restaurant. In addition the Guidry's dozen is the number one appetizer for any oyster lover and all at a very reasonable price. Extremely friendly. On the Half Shell has the most excellent service. Truely the waitstaff is the best of the best. A must try restuarant, that is guaranteed to sweep you off your feet and make you come back again and again.

 The food was traditional Louisiana cuisine, and prepared perfectly. Being a Chef in Louisiana, I tend to Cretique a bit too much, but everything was on the mark. The service was expediant, and friendly. Ambience was spectacular. definately a repeat visit, if not a regular monthly visit. Keep up the excellent work Mr. Coy and Mrs. Terry.

 I have never had such delicious food! The fried foods were crispy and done to perfection. The chargrilled oysters were divine, and the crab mornay was the most exquisite food I've ever put into my nouth. Thank you for the great service and good times!

 We've only done the take-out thing from On the Half Shell, but each meal was very good. Only issue is the price. They have Mike Anderson prices, but food is not as good as Mike's.

 The food has been great on every visit. The oysters are the greatest. Their seafood is well seasoned.
