We lived in Fort Walton Beach for 16 years and left 2 years ago. Old Bay was our favorite restaurant in the area and we went there at least once a month. Last week we visited for the first time since leaving and of course had to eat at Old Bay. We looked forward to this meal more than any. We were extremely disappointed! Our waiter was rude, impatient, and acted as though we were a burden to him. He spilled water on our guest and barely offered an apology. The food portions were much smaller than 2 years ago. We each got 2 potatoes the size of a strawberry and our crab legs were barely luke warm when they arrived at our table. Really unacceptable food quantity and quality. The salad was good, but we noticed the usual black olives were missing. I doubt we will go back there when in town again.

I ask my husband what he wanted for his birthday and he said to eat at Old Bay Steamer in Destin, FL. We ate there last Summer and loved it. We are driving down in a few week to stay 2 days and eat my husband's birthday dinner at Old Bay Steamer.

We eat at restaurant's all over Destin and Ft. Walton, this is by far the BEST seafood there is. The Shrimp and Crab legs are wonderful, they also have the best Seafood Gumbo! You will not be disappointed. We eat dinner there at least twice when we are down on vacation.

The very best restaurant within 100 miles of Destin. The steamed shrimp and house salad is a meal by itself. I don't know if it's still the case but go there early and you get great specials. Service was great and super friendly. Normal pricing for the area but the amount of food you get is much more than most places. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !

Simply too expensive for the overall value. Food is ok but nothing outstanding. Service alright but again, nothing outstanding. This is a typical touristy chain restaurant on the beach which really does not have much to offer in terms of excellence. Fish was good but the vegetables were so so.

As locals here this is one of the few places that we have enjoyed for years. The food is wonderful and so is the family that runs it. The place has a New Orleans funky setting about it and the casual atmosphere will make you feel right at home. Also the house salad is the greatest and as the motto says "steamed not fried"

We first ate at old bay steamer in the fall of 2006 LOVED it. We recently returned a few days ago and were GROSSLY disappointed. It appears as if the staff was sabotaging the food and the waiter was dispassionate and uncaring. The food was cold & underecooked. 3 thumbs down

While visiting my daughter and her family over Christmas, we had dinner at the Old Bay Steamer. We ordered the family seafood platter & were pleasantly surprised at how much food there was...all of it delicious! The salad was delectible...the Key Lime Pie, a MUST to try! Our server, Patrick, treated us like royalty! The next time we visit, Old Bay Steamer will be first on our list of things to do! :) Keep up the high standards...you will continue to be a truly great dining experience! Thank you! We love Old Bay. The appetizers are tasty, especially the mushrooms and the tuna dip. For fresh steamed seafood, it is the best. I'm heading there tonight!

My husband and I dined there last summer and will be in the area again this summer and DEFINITELY will be dining there again. We ordered the Sampler for Two and it was absolutely delicious. Their salad and salad dressing was out of this world as well.

My husband and I go every year (making the drive from Boaz, Alabama to Fort Walton, Florida) at least twice a year. It was the only restaurant that we had ever chosen to visit twice in the same vacation week. The food is so fresh and delicious and the service is second to none. We recommend it to all our friends that are beach bound!

Old Bay Steamer is the BEST resturant I have EVER been to. The best thing to get is the supersize platter. It comes with lobster, king crad legs, snow crab legs, corn on the cob and more. It is SO GOOD!!!!

When asking a realtor in the area for a place to stay she also suggested OBS for great seafood. It was the best seafood EVER!!! Our family of 4 had the "Family Steamer" and actually ate every bit of it! Great atmosphere and service :)

We had a great time at the Old Bay Steamer. We were in Ft. Walton Beach 3 nights in late March of 2004. Seldom do we repeat at a restaurant, but we ate two evenings there. This restaurant is a must do for visitors to the area - you won't be sorry.
